Pop’s Sweet Shop — Restaurant in Lenexa

It's a cute place for sure, with lots to offer. It sounds like fudge is their specialty, and I didn't try any. For what I was looking for - a cute ice cream shop - I wasn't very excited. The ice cream is Blue Bell, and I much prefer something either made by the shop or at least from a Midwestern dairy as opposed to something based in Texas that I can buy at a grocery store nationwide. I found it expensive for what was offered. I was also disappointed when I asked for a doggy cone and was charged for a regular scoop of ice cream in a cup - it was a lot for a dog! However, I thought the smoothie was good and priced right, and it's hard to find a place that does real fruit smoothies these days instead of the fruit juice kind. Looking at the Spring Hill location, it seems like they will hopefully have more to offer that will make it fun to bring my son as he gets older, but I won't be making it my new neighborhood...

I want to send kudos Pop's Sweet Shop of Lenexa, KS for serving the best St. Patrick's Day drinks around! You see, I have never been a big fan of mint chocolate chip ice cream (the main ingredient for this treat). After mentioning that it's not my favorite to the gal making our ice cream drinks, she promptly offered to make mine with vanilla and add green dye to keep the "feel" of the drink. Not only was my shake tasty, but it was visually perfect for the holiday too! My kids and I loved getting to visit! If you are a fun-going couple looking for a great place to take some super cute pictures, this is the place! Get a shake to share or a cone for each and let's capture the fun moment together around the nostalgic feel of this ice cream shop!

We’ve gone about 3 times now, each time not impressed with the service of the staff. I waited to write a review in hopes that we just went on a bad day the first time, but it seems to be each time. Im aware these are teenagers behind the counter but they are in need of more people skills, the kids are very quiet and each time we’ve gone look like they have no clue about what they’re doing except for one of them taking charge each time. The ice cream and shakes are good. The sundaes and banana splits left a bit room for improvement. We asked for a banana split and when asked about topping options, requested caramel, strawberry and hot fudge. The both the caramel and hot fudge were a clump on top of the ice cream.
