Strip’s Chicken & Brewing — Restaurant in Lenexa

My extended family and I (7 of us) all had lunch yesterday at Strips in Lenexa. As far as I’m concerned, this gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. The owner (Todd) came out and talked to our table for quite a while, so I got to ask all the questions about separate fryer, dedicated workspace, etc. I have complete confidence eating here. Also, all my “gluten goblins” thought the GF food was good too. In fact, they all said the GF onion strings were the best they’ve had anywhere!!! I did not have a reaction, so I’m spreading the good news! GF food can be really good…and it is here!!!

I ordered the smoked pulled bbq pork sandwich on a GF bun…that DID NOT FALL APART!!! It wasn’t hard and was sooo yummy. Woo hoo!!! I also tried the GF fried zucchini and enjoyed that as well. Just let them cool down a bit and use the fork they bring you. The coating will fall off as you try to eat it. My sister was thrilled that they had real broasted chicken.

The only thing I would change is—please have a chipotle ranch dressing for dipping. That is my favorite for dipping anything and slathering on sandwiches. Oh, and need wet naps!

My husband was not happy with the price of the cocktails ($15), but they were awesome. My mojito was strained. 😳 So no chunks of mint sneaking up the straw. I definitely tasted the mint though.

We sat at a two tables moved together, but we noticed that a couple of the booths had TV screens with Roku. I guess you can choose what you want to watch. Also, the booths have tall backs, so I would imagine it would feel nice and private in there. Everything was a dark wood surface—very homey. There was a patio on the east side, which would be nice in the evening. We will definitely...

GLUTEN FREE FRIED CHICKEN!!! I have been a loyal "Strips" conissieur since Todd opened his doors in Olathe. I've been to every other location, but tonight, I decided to try the newest one in Lenexa. Atmosphere was wonderful. Nintendo units at every booth was a hit with my daughter; and to me too(some of the games were from my childhood). The outside deck that wraps around the east side of the building is inviting. Love the lighting. Our wait time was what I expected for the meals we ordered. Service was excellent. Todd was there tonight and checked on us while we were waiting. We talked about a possible family connection from his past and my husband's and quickly turned to the topic of his new "star" of the show that he was debuting tomorrow night.....GLUTEN FREE FRIED ZUCCHINI! Say what?!!!! He went back into the kitchen and cooked us up a batch for a private tasting. Wowza! So good! You cannot find this anywhere else....you will always see fried okra; of which I can never have. But THIS.......this is gluten free and it's zucchini!!! I thanked him for bringing gluten free to the forefront of eating out. This fried chicken ya'll is THE BOMB! SERIOUSLY! Even if you do not need to eat GF, you need to try this and soon!

Stopped by for first time. Ordered chicken sandwich with hot honey to go. Go 3 dry strips on a bun with pickles. No Honey, No Hot. Tried to email owner versus leave a bad review online. Even though he wasn't there he got all pissy about the fries were indeed hot when I purchased them and they were cold. I'm sure he will Leave some kind of nasty response to this review as he seems to have a hot temper. Too bad, I work in an office right down the road with 25 co workers and none of us will ever darken his door. Message to Owner- I am your customer, you are not mine. The customer is always right hothead

RESPONSE TO Owner- I work 2 minutes from your location so that didn't cause the fries to go cold. Plus what about the super cardboard box you mentioned to keep them hot? What probably caused it was the bag of food was left on the counter unattended not in the warmer you mentioned. All you really had to say was Im sorry you weren't happy what can I do to make it right. Just acknoledge a mistake dude.The 2 previous restuarants that were in your Lenexa location failed.
