Nestled near the Midway Theaters, in a space once home to Shrimpy’s and Hooked, the Palm Beach Bar & Grill has emerged as a fresh and intriguing culinary addition to the area. Drawn by curiosity and the buzz of a new opening, I ventured there last night—and what a delightful discovery it turned out to be.
Helmed by Chef James and General Manager Kathryn, the restaurant brings a taste of Southern Florida comfort food to Rehoboth Beach. Originally from Palm Beach, this husband-and-wife team relocated to the area four years ago, already leaving their mark with the popular First State Corn & More near the boardwalk. With their latest venture, they’ve seamlessly blended beachside charm with vibrant flavors.
The menu is a treasure trove of great options. A few appetizers immediately captured my imagination—Cubana Egg Rolls, the Boca Seafood Skillet, and the Crispy Corn Ribs. Though I resisted temptation this time, I’ve been assured the Mussels in Paradise are nothing short of divine—a promise I’ll gladly return to verify. Signature dishes, marked with a charming palm tree icon, showcase the creativity of the kitchen, and I struggled to narrow down my choice among the sandwiches. Ultimately, the Floridian Cuban Sandwich won me over. After all, when in Palm Beach spirit, why not go all in?
The neighboring table ordered selections from the cleverly titled “Taco-bout Fun” menu section. The standout for me? The Taco Smash-Up—a playful marriage of a smash burger and a taco. It seemed as whimsical as it is appetizing. And the Crab Bisque, calling my name from across the menu, is firmly on my list for next time.
The space itself is as inviting as the menu. With a sleek, expansive bar offering an ample array of spirits, it will definately be a place to linger. My wife orderded their take on a classic French 75, a cocktail that was extraordinary. As for ambiance, the promise of live music nights on the spacious stage makes it clear this spot is poised to be more than just a restaurant—it’s a gathering place.
James and Kathryn’s passion and dedication are evident in every detail, from the unique and not overwhelming menu to the welcoming atmosphere. Palm Beach Bar & Grill is a standout addition to our Southern Delaware dining scene. My advice? Go hungry, go soon, and prepare to...
Read moreHad dinner at Palm Beach Grill and was seriously impressed. Everything from the food to the atmosphere was on point. The crab cakes were some of the best I’ve ever had—packed with jumbo lump crab and no filler. The boom boom shrimp had just the right amount of sweetness with a little thai chili, the hush puppies were crispy and flavorful, were fresh and house made, and the street corn was loaded with seasoning and flavor.
The star of the night was the whole red snapper, perfectly cooked and served with rice, beans, and sweet yellow plantains. Every bite was delicious. The South Florida theme really comes through in both the menu and the decor, bright, stylish, and welcoming.
They have a bit of everything you’d expect from a Caribbean fusion restaurant, a little Cuban, some Haitian, Puerto Rican, etc. as a person who was born and raised in the Caribbean, I approve 100%.
They also have a great drink menu, happy hour specials, and live music that adds to the experience. I’ve heard their weekend brunch is amazing too—definitely coming back to try it. Service was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend this place whether you’re local or just visiting Rehoboth.
Almost forgot to mention they are totally kid friendly, kids...
Read moreWe went to their opening night October 19. You could tell it was an opener for sure. Lot of staff running in and out of the kitchen. This is normal if you have ever been to an opener. We ordered an appetizer and 2 dinners and a bottle of wine. It was Jazz Weekend and three was great music as well.
The app was called corn ribs. Halved then sliced corn on the cob dusted in cracker meal, dusted with parm and seasonings. These were very good. Only complaint was the seasoning was on the cob side not the corn side of the portions. My dinner was the 16-ounce ribeye, hush puppies and a side salad. My dinner came out with the house veggies instead of the salad, but this was corrected, and I took the tasty veggies home. The steak was cooked correctly and very good. The puppies were good as well. My wife got the rotisserie half chicken and the mashed potatoes. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. All in all the food was terrific and a good value. We will be back in December and look forward to...
