It's like a little piece of Italy in Lewisburg. It has the best coffee in the area, Segafredo from Italy, in all the European and American styles. But it doesn't stop there: it offers the only breakfast salad in town, breakfast wraps made to order, and a different panini every day, plus a prosciutto wrap to die for.
If you expect sameness, do not come here. There is not an ordinary ingredient in this cafe. They even serve a mayonnaise that can defend itself: it bites back; well a little love nip. It has a touch of sriracha in it.
They use this mayonnaise in their Cole slaw. "Cole slaw?" I hear you ask. "What could anyone do with Cole slaw?" In addition to the nippy mayonnaise, they mix the slaw with a little balsamic vinegar!
A superb coffee shop which my wife and I visit at least weekly, if not 2-3 times some weeks. A wonderfully intimate place to meet your friends or work on your laptop...
Read moreHad lunch here with my wife yesterday. Friendly staff, cute place, great food coffee and scones. We had the chicken gorganzola panini, a salad and a mixed berry scone for dessert. The panini was really good, I think it needed a little more onion. The salad was fresh and had plenty of all ingredients (no skimping). The scone was served warm and was delicious. They are made in house and you can tell. The coffee (I had decaf) was brewed to order and tasted nice and smooth. The prices are about average $9 to $12 for a lunch but the quality makes it worth it.
Ooh! Almost forgot to mention the cole slaw. It is not traditional cole slaw bit I really liked it. It had a lot of purple cabbage and raisins. It also had a bit of a spicy kick to it. I thought it looked strange at first but this will be a must have each time I visit. Do yourself a...
Read moreAmami is the little sister cafe to The Kind Cafe down in Selinsgrove. Both are fantastic cafes. Really good small dishes that make a nice snack or brunch. Good coffee. Great, wonderful owners who care about quality. The iced mocha is my go to. Always reliable. The staff are great. I have two minor complaints about Amami. 1) The atmosphere isn’t great when Bucknell is in semester. It gets a bit busy with students at times (and some can be loud) so just be warned. But happy they are giving our small businesses a visit, so it’s fine. They also have some outside seating if you prefer quiet. Or, just go early as students at Bucknell rarely like to wake up early for anything. That leads to my other minor complaint - what cafe with great coffee doesn’t open until 9am? I’d happy swing by at 7-8am. Seriously though, it’s a great little cafe....
