My mom and I drove 1 hr and 20 minutes just to try this restaurant. Based off of “word of mouth” by close family and friends. Our waitress was excellent. Miss Penny you were Perfect! Thank You for your kindness! The Brussel sprouts they serve are pretty good, but very different from anything we had ever tried before. They are very sweet and spicy, served with goat cheese and sautéed bacon. We both ordered the Chicken Parmesan meals. This came with a small salad of your choice either their own house salad or Cesar and one slice of garlic bread. I will say I was shocked when both of our meals came out BURNT to a crispy, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt and cut into the charred mass that consumed my plate. It was nothing but breaded coal charred burned, dry, tough, tasteless plate of nonsense. In my opinion should have never left their kitchen to serve any patron. PERIOD! My mom called our server Penny over and we showed her and she agreed “absolutely do not eat” that and asked would we like something else, we both declined any other meals or dessert. She assured us she would talk with management about our meals. When Penny returned with our bill she said that management comped our chicken Parmesan, but charged us for the Cesar salads. Which was fair. That was very fair! However, once we got to calculating we were charged for way more than what a small Cesar salad would have been so we walked up to the actual counter and tried to explain this to the young lady checking us out and she blurted out those were large salads and we said No those were NOT, we both had the small salad portions that already come with the chicken Parmesan meal and so we were asking her are you going to charge us for the large salad portion? And her exact words were “ I don’t know and proceeded to calculate our bill of $32.33. She continued to calculate and split our bill between the both of us. We were both charged and equal amount between us of $ 16.73. She took nothing off and I am no math major but you do the math for yourself $16.73 + $16.73 = $33.46! Yep, she over charged us and even used a calculator! 😳 So I would like to THANK! The young lady with green hair, glasses, and gorgeous knitted cardigan, who ever so conveniently shouting “OH THAT’S JUST GREAT! “ when my mom and I said we would give an honest account of our visit online. Thank you so much for over charging and humiliating us. Making our meal memorable. After this we returned to the table we were seated at to give Penny her tip. The embarrassment and humiliation was thick and could have been resolved very easily. My mom at one point turned and apologized to other folks seated and eating outside. In reality though management should have been present and apologizing us! Again, Thank you Penny for your service! I have shared photos of our meals. You be the judge for yourselves. Absolutely was not worth the embarrassment, humiliation, and inconvenience. I am so Sorry to the folks that had to witness this unfortunate event. I truly hope your food was much better than ours and if you had a problem during your visit hope that you were treated with kindness, respect, and charged...

Let me start by saying that my husband and I are NOT hard to please, especially when it comes to Italian food. When looking through the reviews for this restaurant you might think 'Wow, this place seems great!!' or at least that's what we thought.

We ordered takeout on a Friday night. There was a 40 minute wait, which is fine, but we went in after 40 minutes and had to wait an additional 10. We ordered chicken alfredo and chicken parmesan. At $20+ per entree you would think the food would at least be up to par with Olive Garden, which has similar pricing. That was not the case. Truly, you could make it at home and get better results.

In the chicken parmesan the chicken was not crispy, it was soggy (which is funny considering it should've been extremely fresh since we had to wait so long) it was also extremely bland and had a burnt oil taste. It was also a very small amount of chicken considering the price. The red sauce tasted like it was just a jarred sauce, comparable to Ragu or another cheap brand. The noodles were overcooked and mushy.

The chicken alfredo was "blackened" but it was more charred than blackened. It was also very dry and a small portion, at that. The sauce was ridiculously underwhelming and also tasted like jarred sauce. The noodles were mushy and gross. It also had sun dried tomatoes, which my husband liked but I thought were grossly out of place.

We also had a house salad and a Caesar salad as sides and the Caesar salad was genuinely the only good thing that we had the whole night. The house salad was okay, but definitely not worth ordering.

My husband wanted to return the food and ask for at least a partial refund because it was so terrible. I was starving though and didn't want to wait around for another takeout order from another place so we did eat it. I don't think I've ever been so disappointed by a restaurant in my entire life. If I could give a 0/5...

Extremely disappointed in this establishment. On April 19, 2021 I had dinner during “restaurant week” and informed the waitress of my allergies. I was reassured that my meal did not contain any allergens which I specifically inquired about. I ate my meal and shortly after dinner was covered in hives, had facial + throat swelling, and had to be rushed to the emergency room due to anaphylaxis. I have contacted the managers twice (once in person and once over the phone) and both times all they did was take my information down and state I would be contacted within several days. It’s been over two weeks, and no one has contacted me. When I did speak to the managers they just made excuses and did not take responsibility for their NEGLIGENCE. I was told “it was restaurant week and we were super busy” or “it was a temporary item and is not sold anymore”. Regardless of how busy an establishment is or if a menu item is temporary, it is the responsibility of the restaurant to make sure meals do not contain specific allergens when inquired about. I find this very unprofessional and irresponsible. My meal did in fact contain an allergen and I got VERY SICK that night because of their CARELESSNESS. Till this day, no one has contacted me or even been able to tell me the exact ingredients in my dish. I urge others to NOT SUPPORT this business as it does not take the health and safety of their customers seriously and instead just makes excuses. Luckily, my sister is an attorney and said she would help me deal with them if they didn’t take...

Hearty and Humble at The Humble Tomato After a full day of skiing, we were thrilled to find The Humble Tomato open on a Monday evening. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed—the hostess greeted us warmly, and our server provided top-notch service throughout the meal. The cozy and inviting dining area was clean and well-maintained, creating a relaxing atmosphere for our dinner. I started with the meatballs as an appetizer. The portion included three generously sized meatballs with a mild beef flavor that was satisfying but not overpowering. My Chicken Parmesan entrée came with a fresh, crisp salad topped with a homemade blue cheese dressing that was a standout—creamy and full of flavor. The Chicken Parmesan itself featured a perfectly breaded chicken breast served over linguine with marinara sauce. The marinara was simple, or perhaps “humble,” staying true to the restaurant’s name. It had a pure, tomato-forward flavor without unnecessary sweetness or heavy seasoning. While it lacked bold intensity, it was fresh and satisfying in its simplicity. I can’t wait to return and try their pizza—if the rest of the menu is any indication, it should be fantastic!

Okay, listen up—if you haven’t tried the pizza from The Humble Tomato in Lewisburg, you’re seriously missing out. 😤🔥 First off, let’s talk about the crust. Perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside—like, it’s the kind of crust you want to keep nibbling on even when you’re full. Then, the sauce? It’s got that sweet-and-tangy kick that just works—not too overpowering, but enough to make every bite pop. 🍅👌 Now, the toppings. That pepperoni? Crispy and perfectly greasy (the good kind). The sausage? Absolutely flavor-packed—you can tell it’s fresh and not just any store-bought stuff. And the cheese? Pure melt-in-your-mouth perfection—gooey, stretchy, just the right amount of mozzarella to balance everything out. The Humble Tomato doesn’t play around when it comes to quality. Seriously, every bite felt like a little slice of pizza heaven. 🤤✨ Plus, the vibe inside is chill, the staff is super friendly, and you can tell they’re all about serving up a legit pizza experience. If you're in the Lewisburg area, do yourself a favor and hit this spot up. Your taste buds will thank you. 🍕 #PizzaGoals #HumbleTomato #FoodieFind
