I was in town to do some hiking and when I was looking for accommodations, this popped up and had really good reviews for a very reasonable price so I decided to book it and I’m so glad I did! It’s in a very quiet, convenient area very close to a little downtown area with shops and cafes. After I booked, I was messaged a code to the front door and then to my room door, so it was super easy once I got there. The owner was quick to answer my messages and it was sort of nice not having to deal with a front desk (it’s kind of a giant house style accommodation with several rooms to stay). The room itself was beautiful. Very spacious, there was a kitchenette area as well as the sleeping area and the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and the linens, blankets and towels, were very good quality. The tiled shower area was beautiful and some toiletries were also provided. It’s located pretty close to New River Gorge and a lot of other destination spots in the area. There is a restaurant right next door in which I had dinner one of the two nights I stayed there and the food was great. I believe I just missed some live music, but it was so convenient being right next-door. If you’re in the area, I would definitely recommend The Escape!

I have stayed here countless times now and multiple different rooms (pics attached) as I have clients in the area. With HR about to book me yet again for my next trip in Sept. I figured it was about time to actually post a long overdue review. In short, this place is terrific. It's a very quaint, comfy and clean stay in a convenient location. Downtown Lewisburg is very walkable, so you can easily score drinks or dinner nearby without the need to drive. There is even a bar right next door to post up at if you are feeling particularly lazy after a long day. The attached kitchens contain all you will need and the provided toiletries in the bathrooms are first rate. I have only dealt with the proprietor directly once, and it was when I had a canceled flight out of Greenbrier Valley and needed to extend my stay and they hooked me up instantly. So long as I keep returning to Lewisburg I will keep coming to this place for a room so long as they have one available for me. Their pricing is more than fair and if you are in the area and in need of a room it is silly to go anywhere else.

Great little spot, clean and comfortable and the check in procedure was super easy!

You pay online or however, and within minutes get your door code for the outer door, then your room door, and that’s it!

We loved that, and will definitely be back when visiting Lewisburg.

Good job, Escape People :)

PS

I will say to chime in with some of the other reviewers, I slept like a rock (nicest sheets I’ve ever felt, and amazing bed, great duvet all if it) but my wife would agree that some fluffier pillows would be good, there were four but all better suited for stomach sleepers.

Can’t say anything for the bottled water other than there are a lot of stores quite close to the hotel, also the little bar right next-door has great food if you don’t mind waiting a few minutes extra on account of how busy they get.

I will also add at the bottom of this that the next night we stayed at the Omni Homestead and spent about $X,XXX.XX for food, a spa day, and a 6 course meal (wife’s birthday weekend).

Clearly these are different experiences overall, but this truck driver slept better...
