I have eaten here 4 times: twice I ordered out and twice I dined in. I have only ever gotten the bean and cheese pupusas and they are in fact, good. The issue is that the woman at the register is dishonest and is stealing and robbing from customers. The first two times, I picked up my order and thought the price seemed high. The prices weren't adding up but I declined a receipt so was unable to check what exactly was being charged. Oh, well- I thought. The next time, we dined in, my husband paid, and on our drive home, he mentioned the price seemed high, luckily he always asks for a receipt so he handed it to me to review... there it was: 20% tip added! I understand adding tip when it's a large party of 5 or more, but it was only us 2, it was not notated anywhere, AND we ordered at the front, we didn't even order at the table! My husband had his suspicions that the woman at the register was shady because she never turned the screen around. Well, today, it was confirmed- DISHONEST AND STEALING FROM CUSTOMERS. We decided to dine in but having learned from our last experience, we sat at the table to order vs ordering at the register. When it was time to pay, the price again seemed higher than expected so my husband asked for an itemized receipt. The woman seemed stunned and said ok, just pay first so it can print- my husband said no, I would like to see what you're charging me for before I pay... she turned the screen around and there was a 16% tip added. He then asked, I didn't add that tip, why is that there? She stuttered and and said the system automatically adds that in. My husband said no, that's not how this system works, you flip the screen over and I decide how much I want to tip you based on the service you provided. She said that's how the owner has it set up. Not wanting to argue, he said ok let me just pay, so she flips the screen around and there is the tip screen! What a joke and lying in front of our faces. It's sad that dishonest employees are what create bad reputations for businesses that otherwise do have good food. Needless to say, we will...
Read moreWe wanted to give this place a try even though we saw the very low rating. The food was more than average. The young girl server speaks zero English but acts like she was working at a street food place. We were still trying to be nice and using Google Translate to communicate. When we came up to the counter to pay, we had to tell her to remove the charge of almost $6 for a tamarind drink she never brought us. She also rushed us to choose the tipping amount and tap the card. We did not see the service charge of 18% on the payment device so we added a tip, and then saw it on the receipt later. For a total bill of $42.55, the service charge was $7.59, while the service provided was very minimal. We came in curious, and left angry. It was such a...
Read moreLet’s start by customer service: I was met with a smile by a lady. She was calm, extremely pleasant and polite. The restaurant is extremely clean. Nothing at all to improve. Not one thing. The food was not only delicious but it was freshly made to order. The price point was awesome. Most of the dishes I saw were under or lingering right around low teens. Although she was attentive she did not was overbearing and she allowed us to take our time. No rush to leave at all. You can tell it’s family owned. I will definitely return. And quite honestly I...
