I would NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN! I felt bullied by housekeeping, and no one seemed to care. I have a son with autism and I fed him breakfast in my room (209) because he's not comfortable around groups of people, and I didn't want him freaking out in the breakfast area, plus, I have 4 other kids besides him and I wanted to make sure everyone needs were being met. After breakfast we left the hotel to have family time and when I returned after housekeeping cleaned the room, Carlos in guest services called and informed me the housekeeper wrote a report and said my room was really dirty and food was smashed in the carpet, which was not true!! My son did spill something, and I took a towel and cleaned it up. That was all!! So, I went downstairs and spoke with the manager, Chris, and he assured me everything was fine and it was just a misunderstanding. Chris provided me with rags and told me the next time my son spilled something to get it up with the rags. I had no problem with that, so I took the rags from Chris, thanked him, and proceeded to go about my day. The next day the same woman from housekeeping showed up to my door and asked if I would like housekeeping to clean my room, I said " yes, give me 10 minutes and I'll be out the room" she then rolled her eyes and said " oh God" and walked away. That was so unprofessional of her to do that, and I've never experienced anything like that EVER! I have to prepare my son because if I switch his routine quickly, he freaks out because he has autism!!!! I ignored the rude housekeeper, and I left the room. When I returned about 7 hours later, I noticed she half made the beds and didn't even bother to touch the bathroom, the sofa bed, or anything else for that matter. She left the trash that was neatly on the table and everything. When I went downstairs to complaint no one cared and the older white gentleman told me he didn't want to come up to the room to see what I was talking about because he wasn't going to fill out a complaint form and the black female just ignored the entire situation. I paid $800 to be at this hotel, and I was so uncomfortable and stressed. So, I just went to my room, put the do not disturb sign on the door and skipped breakfast the rest of my stay and took my children out to eat. I will never stay here again. The pictures below show how my room was left by housekeeping. What a shame. This was the worst hotel...
Read moreDON'T stay in several of the rooms. A/c is mostly elderly in this joint, doesn't dehumidify, pumps moist air back into the room, and doesn't so much cool your room, as it turns it into a lake with beds, pumping so much moisture into the air, that the toilet paper almost turns back into wood pulp, and you can see blistering particle board on fixtures in the rooms that are otherwise new. If this was just one room, I would have let it go, and not written this, but considering we had 6 rooms separately for the group on the same floor, and 4 of them were all musty, damp, smelly, wouldn't cool during the day, and awful to sleep in. Not a great ratio. I will say buyer beware until this hotel actually pays to fix their A/Cs. This is really sad to write because the rest of the hotel is quite nice, staff was very friendly, the hallways were nice but.... I mean, c'mon this is Texas. We know A/C.
UPDATE: So the "Owner" responded to this review with a very passive aggressive reply of, "Unfortunately, we did not find any record of you staying here. Perhaps, you may have confused our hotel for another one. Please contact the hotel directly if you wish to discuss this matter."
If you read down the reviews on this page, this business "owner" or manager uses this same passive aggressive reply MANY times to reply to people who have had a bad time there. This is the mark of a terrible business owner, who would rather become combative with a bad reviewer, trying to place the blame on the customer "mistaking" his business with another.
A real business would reply with "We're so sorry you had a bad experience with us, please give us an opportunity to do better next time, etc..."
But not this one. This guy, instead of fixing what SEVERAL people have complained about on reviews here, he would rather tell you that you're wrong, or a liar.
Thanks to the owners response to my review, and the many others he ahs responded to in the same manner, I have screen-shotted all of these for documentation, and have taken this to corporate instead. I don't think they want someone representing their company in...
Read moreThe customer service was good. The property is beautiful from outside to inside. Everything looks amazing and we absolutely loved the glass cups and mugs provided for water and coffee instead of the plastic ones you would usually get. The room looks amazing and was huge! Our downfalls would be the breakfast area. Too small and tight, everyone had to squish to try and get around even in the eating space provided. Would love it if they would open the whole lobby up to be the breakfast dining to make more space. The food was 1 star. We are used to best western plus being 5 star with the breakfast part being the best but this time this was 1 of the worst. They had limited options which were eggs, pancakes (why? When u have waffles...) they could have had biscuit and gravy or hash browns. and they served us literally...... ham lunchmeat that was still cold. They rolled it up to make it look fancy but who are you kidding? The coffee was good, the jello tasted funny, the waffles were delicious, the muffin ahh they were ok. But free breakfast I guess so we're grateful just disappointed.
Aside from the beautiful rooms our issue was the A/C. It didn't get cold enough for us and it was very stuffy. I know we should be use to texas heat but if we're staying in a hotel we want it to be whatever temperature we want. Cold or hot we should be able to put it down to 60° and have it feel like 60°. We did set it to 60° but it felt more like 70°. We made it known to the staff and they had maintenance come look at it and there was nothing to be done. So he brought us a fan. We stepped out for couple hours and came back it felt the same as when we got in and we checked in early at 9a so when we stepped out it was 1230p. Ended up switching rooms and it was still the same so we got an extra fan which helped out but we shouldn't need to do that. Just disappointed with our stay. The staff were great and provided excellent customer service. Just need something done about the A/C or we just will stay at another...
