Where do I even start. This place was phenomenal. You walk in and the smell is amazing, you can smell the broth in the back. Absolutely wonderful. We got there pretty late so it wasn’t busy so we can’t speak on crowdedness, but we were sat and the waitress took our drinks.
We ordered the spring rolls first. I ordered the vegan ones with no tofu and my dad got the seared pork. Both were so refreshing and heavenly after a long day. Their peanut sauce isn’t overpowering and is filled with an amazing flavor without tasting like peanut butter. Even if you don’t normally like vietnamese peanut sauce, you need to try theirs, try adding some of their Sriracha in it as well if you like a bit of spicy as well.
Their portions are great, my dad ordered the combination while I ordered the Vegetarian, as i prefer these options (no tofu again). I can’t focus on my dad’s as much as I really only tried his broth, however I can focus on my bowl. We were both captivated by our pho. I was blown away. I’ve never, NEVER, had a vegetable broth so flavorful and tasty as the one I had here. It was rich, and full of different notes, unlike other vegetable broths i’ve tasted that have been almost watered down and flavorless. I was in heaven almost the whole time and that’s barely an exaggeration. I rarely eat mushrooms but I ate almost all of them this time because I knew they had soaked up the broth. One of the best dining experiences i’ve had.
My dad says the same, he loved how rich and flavorful his broth was as well and was astounded by the profile of just the broth itself. We had the meal with a shared side of jasmine rice that we used to soak up the broth to eat and it was delightful.
Thank you to the cooks at pho one for making a beautiful meal, thank you for the staff for serving us so kindly so late. I may write like a food critic but i’m far from one, but this place truly deserves...
Read moreThis restaurant is good but with the Pho Beef soup I have found causes me to have some type of reaction, a tightness of chest and somewhat difficulty breathing. I have contacted the manager of this restaurant to ask for the distributor of the MSG based ingredient he uses in his Pho Beef soup, and when I asked he hung up on me. Note that both this restaurant and the Pho Que Huong cause me to have the same reaction from Pho beef soup, the tightness in the chest.
I stopped eating Pho in Lewisville and I currently drive to Carrollton for my Pho at the Pho Tai restaurant near H-Mart where I have no reaction to the soup. I eat at Pho Tai at least once a week and have never had this problem. I am not sensitive to MSG, because I eat it with no problems on my steaks and other food. I believe the distributor for these two restaurants is supplying something of an odd formula. The reaction is tied to only these two restaurants in my experience. I have eaten frequently at several Pho restaurants outside of the Lewisville area and have no reaction to the soup. Once every 3 weeks I also eat at Pho restaurants in Mansfield, Arlington and Midlothian and have never had any reaction at any of those reataurants I have the reaction without failure each time I eat at either of these two ones in Lewisville.
I am simply trying to trace what the issue is here. I enjoy the soup and there is no option to have the soup without the MSG I have told. If you experience similar symptoms, please let me know so I can escalate this issue. Again the feeling is a tightness of chest and finding it a bit...
Read moreApologies in advance for the novel. We LOVE this place! We travel about 40 minutes to come eat here and the service is normally really awesome! Yesterday evening, though, we were first served by an incredibly rude and judgemental young girl. My husband ordered his seafood pho (no problem) but when I ordered my chicken pho minus the chicken and veggies, I recieved an incredibly judgemental look and question. She even looked at my husband as she asked slowly "Chicken pho...without chicken...and veggies?" We couldn't tell if she was asking him for permission or simply trying to see if she was the only one who found the idea incredulous. She seemed insulted when I requested extra noodles too lol When I asked for water without ice, she shot my husband another incredulous look. I think she was supremely disappointed when he asked for water without ice as well. After confirming our order (once again, saying my order as slowly as possible and furrowing her brow in the process), she condescendingly asked/stated at me "You need a fork?!" As if it's an insult to use a fork instead of chopsticks! She was spot on, of course LOL xD But still! My husband was TICKED! Thankfully, for the majority of the rest of our meal, we were helped by an incredibly sweet server with an adorable short haircut (didn't catch their name). In the future, we will make sure to deliberately request anybody but our initial server. Otherwise, SHE can be the one paying for my meal and can...
