Catrina Grill Mexican Kitchen and Bakery — Restaurant in Lewisville

Saw a video of this place on TikTok. Gonna be real here if it wasn't for TikTok. I probably wouldn't have ever stepped foot in here. I had seen the video a couple of weeks back but hadn't had a chance to hit it up. We'll today was the day, and I was gonna try it. Location is about 5 miles away from my place. I finished my workout and said to myself Catarina it is! Showered up, got dressed, and drove over. Place was about to close and got here around 8:30ish. There were 3 people i side ordering.

Checked out the menu while i waited and knew what I wanted. Staff was friendly and asked what I wanted. I ordered a street taco plate and a taco birria plate. Got to compliment location. This place was super clean and well kept. Got my order pretty fast. Got home and feasted. Let me tell you the food was fantastic.

Both plates were stuffed with meat paid about 20ish bucks but well worth it. Flavors were on point, and the corn tortillas looked homemade. You can also buy flour and corn tortillas to go as well as pastries.

This place is a must visit. I will definitely be back and actually eat here at a table. They offer free chips...

So I was influenced by the daughter on tiktok, so I called a hour before close because I wanted to make sure the kitchen would be open still (and it wasss). So I ordered 2 birria taco plates with a large order of rice and churo beans 🫘($31.37). My boyfriend had a hard time with drive thru/parking(understandable with popularity traffic from tiktok and not enough front facing staff) and he couldn’t really wait in the inside because their air conditioner broke the day before. So be prepared for a 30-35 minute wait after ordering, and give them some grace to adjust to the influx of new customers. BUT LEMME TELL YOU SUMTIN,I live 27 minutes away and my food was still hot enough to not have to heat it up in the microwave (I prefer my food pippin hot,fresh off the grill). And when I unwrapped the plastic and plated up the beans and rice,and I dipped them mugs in the juice and took the first bite 😭😭😭 and then I dipped it in the green sauce I was mad because it was so good I’m considering going back soon even if the wait was 30 minutes 🧍🏽‍♀️ of course I’ll have to go on a weekday and not a Friday an hour till close. I was extra hungry,but it was worth the wait. It’s flavorful and fulfilling so don’t over order. Two birria tacos with beans and rice is definitely enough to get you full. Listen I always come here and I hope the owners see this the Ramirez. I like to support my people especially small business . I have been coming here for a couple months non stop ,After today I don’t think I will be back . Some of you’re workers not all but certain women two of them , were extremely rude . I always come here and ask for minor request maybe to get my meat cut smaller or even if I can get a toasted bread nothing ridiculous in my eyes never had issues . But when I went in these two girl literally kept telling me they could not do anything it was “impossible” and they literally rolled there eyes at me and gave me the nastiest look and said I need to take what they can give me and to stop asking for request . Even to toast my bread like I always ask for she said the kitchen said no they did not want to do it . . I told them I was going to speak to the manager and they said they did not care because the manger was not going to do anything . I will say one of you’re workers knows of my interaction with these certain individuals but they are to scared to speak up because they said the management would not believe them and think they just want to cause problems .
