I used to go here years ago and absolutely loved it. It was my favorite Friday and Saturday night spot. The people were great. Loved the staff. Had a favorite bartender and drink only made at EC. After living out of state for some time, I came home and wanted to go back to a place I loved. Paid 12.50 for a friend and I to get in for the two ladies at the front desk to be rude af with attitudes. Rolling their eyes at me and my friend. For what reason, I'm not sure. But I let it slide. To get into the bar and realize that within less than 10 minutes, it was a complete waste of money and time. Electric Cowboy is a country dance hall bar. Yet the dress code is apparently house slipper, among many other things. Sorry, but dancing in slippers could cause someone to seriously get hurt. This place used to be packed wall to wall with all ages. It was a great mix of people back then, older generations showing younger generations how to dance like the waltz among other styles. Now, 75 percent of the people in the bar were under 21. Not only did the atmosphere change. The safety of the people in and around EC is now questionable. When we pulled into the parking lot, there were at least 10 squad cars on the scene. A few leaving. This was something I had never seen before in the many years of going to this bar. It is safe to say I will never return, not even if you paid me. It was really sad because I made a lot of great memories with friends who turned into family in this bar. I would rather go to Cowboys Redriver, and I don't even like that place. Also, if you have seen all the tik tok videos and think, oh, this looks great place to go. Looks can be deceiving. Now, if you like to line dance and maybe want to dip your toes into learning Texas two steps, this MIGHT be the place for you. But even then, it's mediocre. A quarter of the people in the place can't actually two step. They one step with "texas swing." Goodbye EC thanks for some great memories. I guess it's time to find a new...
Read moreWent on a Thursday... This place was our last attempt at trying to find a place that does line dancing within a 45 min drive.
It's old style Texas partner country until 9:30 pm ... No line dancing, not even country line dancing is mixed in.
At 9:30 the dj will play the electric slide for the old people.. Wow. Then he goes into pure college hip hop line dancing, then switches back to modern partner country, then back to club hip hop, and so forth until 3am .
The dj takes requests, but does not always play them. During the whole time we were there he played one modern country line dance, and only towards the beginning of the night.
The dance floor is too small. People were bumping into each other all night and some people got a little aggressive about it.
After 9:30 it's mostly all college age people (club is 18+). Before that it's mostly older people. Weird vibe overall throughout the place which explains the multitude of bouncers I guess.
Would love to find a place that mixed everything all together so it's not so divided. Older people and college age can co exist and like the same stuff if the dj would play the right stuff and if they had a bigger...
Read moreLast night my little sister (20 years old) came here and during the beginning she was having a great time. She had to run to her car just for a minute but when she came back the bouncer, Carter Loyd, grabbed her arm, very hard, and her fist instinct was to pull away because she did not know who was grabbing her, which is reasonable due to being a young female in this world. He then proceeds to grab her arm harder and kept saying “your a minor you can’t go in there” and “you need to grab your ID and leave”. And being young and frightened she does what he says and leaves. I think this is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE. She did NOTHING wrong and had no reason to be thrown out. This place is 18 and up so I don’t know why, at 20 years old, she is being told that. I don’t know what this guy was thinking or why he thought it was okay to do that but I hope disciplinary actions are taken. I have NEVER in my life seen a bouncer grab someone out of nowhere and tell them to leave for no reason. I understand doing that if the person was causing problems or getting violent but not to a 20 year old girl who was just walking inside. Those actions he took should...
