The A/C worked well. The bed was firm. However, I made notes and took photos of more than a dozen items of disrepair, and poor quality.||||1. The blanket on the bed was torn or ripped in several places, quite visible upon entry. Did the staff not report it? Or did management not replace it? I think the latter.||2. The coffee bar lacked sugar substitute, important to me as a diabetic.||3. No soap at the bath tub. ||4. The soap dispensers were useless, empty and sitting on the tub.||5. Both the lavatory and tub lacked a stopper, essential to filling for bath.||6. The tissue case on the counter was empty, not even a box. An empty case is worse than no case at all.||7. The TV was not plugged in. Why? Did the staff fail to check?||8. A coin was on the floor beside that cabinet. I wonder if the floor was swept, or if it was done hurriedly.||9. The bathroom counter splashboard needs to be caulked. It is not merely cracked. It is broken, now incomplete along the corner.||10. Whoever painted the room was sloppy at best. The repair to the ceiling over the tub is unfinished. ||11. The white wall under the counter has red brushmarks. Careless to do it. Unprofessional to not touch up the wall. ||12. The toilet tank handle is bent. The device need repair or replacement because I found the toilet water running. This wastes water while you strive to save water by replacing towels every third day.||13. The bathroom door bottom corner is deteriorating, ragged, evidence of a flood. ||14. The carpet is ragged, perhaps from being soaked by the flooded bathroom floor. ||14. What are the loose blue data cords between the bed and night stand?||Perhaps a task unfinished, or materials left instead of removed to leave the room tidy?||15. I think the last is most troublesome for you: Indifference. When checking out, I mentioned to the GM that the room had problems. He was focused on some task, and did not turn to face me. After a moment I began to mention items. A clerk gave a tacit reply that they would check. There was no show of concern; no apology. Rather more of a dismissal. I will not stay at this Baymont again.||||As I said, I photographed these and...
Read moreAnyone that is on the fence about booking this hotel in Lewisville, Texas, please let this be your voice of reason in telling you not to book! The reviews were split when we booked and I was sadly mistaken for booking this facility. The only positive thing I have to say about this hotel is that the staff members were very friendly. Otherwise, the rooms left so much to be desired in their cleanliness. Upon arrival, the bathroom shower wall was actually falling off and a large portion of the bathroom baseboard was missing which exposed chunks of the wall, plaster, and brown filth. The vanity and towel rack was clearly never wiped down, as the amount of dust and dirt was piled on these. The white towels provided by the hotel did not stay white after I wiped these off. Our smoke alarm had a paper towel wrapped around it, my only assumption would be so a previous guest could smoke. I thought the hotel was going to take the “no smoking” policy seriously as they had signs throughout the building, but it must not be enforced as they advertised because when walking down the first floor hallway you got strong whiffs of marijuana. I also called prior to booking to verify that this hotel has a continental breakfast as listed, which I was reassured they had. When checking in and questioning the breakfast, we were greeted with two brown paper bagged breakfasts that included a water, an apple, a pack of prepackaged muffins and a granola bar. This was their “continental breakfast”. It comes as no surprise at this point, as the whole facility was a let down compared to their advertisements, that when calling to book they did in fact state they had a swimming pool and it was not considered their off season yet so the pool would be open when we arrived. When arriving, there was a hand written note on the pool entrance “closed for the season”. When I brought this to staffs attention it was dismissed as the pool was just down for maintenance. Overall, a...
Read moreI tethered between rating this establishment as 2 or 3 stars. Its more of a 2.5. The entrance to the hotel is not clear from the highway, more especially at night. We were lost going in circles twice before finding it. Upon arrival the night clerk was very friendly. Our room was quaint. It is such a basic hotel room that it was a let down from pictures I had seen online. Our room had 2 full sized beds, a coffee maker, mini fridge, tv and small desk area. No microwave was a bummer as we were staying for several days and with children. Breakfast in the morning is simply the standard; make your own waffle, yogurt, muffins/pastries, bagels, and cereal dispensers. Nothing glamorous. There really wasn't anything that ushered me to want to return. Our bathroom had a board that had fallen exposing the sink pipes. The sink itself gathered water as it ran and took a moment to go down. The railing in the tub was loose. The tub stopper/plug was on the rim of the tub and clearly supposed to be attached. When you ran the shower the tub stayed on and the water gathered around your feet then took a while to go down. In our actual room the TV remote had a broken backing and no channel guide to follow. The the rod to draw the curtain was broken off and lying against the wall. There were also 2 green painted boards just laying over the air conditioning cords/piping that weren't fixated down. The pillows weren't similar neither per bed nor either bed. 2 frumpy pillows and a flat pillow on one bed, 3 flat pillows on the other. So, major inconsistencies. It was however quiet and a place to stay. We just don't think for the money spent we were given all that we expected. It was very simply put...
