Tacos Sabrositos — Restaurant in Lewisville

It hit the spot considering that it’s open for breakfast and it has a variation of the delicious delicacy of menudo on the weekends. The breakfast tacos with eggs are made to order and stuffed, but these are on the smaller side compared to my South Texas tacos. You do have to buy drinks out of the display chill boxes, but coffee is available at the counter.

Prices are reasonable and the tortillas are not homemade because they lack that extra fluffy buttery goodness you get from lard or butter like grandma use to make!

This is a small place with counter ordering service, so don’t expect to get seated and waited on in one of the 7 tables. It’s simple, you order at the counter and seat yourself or take it to go! They do serve a lot of takeout orders if that’s a preference.

I lived near Sabrositos for a few years and never had the chance to stop by. So the other day, since it was Taco Tuesday, I thought I would stop by. This is a small mom-and-pop shop. I got a variety of things from the flour tacos to the corn tacos, to the Gorditas. And to top it off, I got some chips and salsa. Some had chicken and some had steak. The Gorditas had beef.

The atmosphere was OK. I was taking it to-go. They had 6-8 tables to sit at. They had drinks off to one side in large refrigerator cabinets that had sliding glass doors. They had a large TV over-head by the order counter playing soccer (futbol). Nothing stand out out here.

As I tried all the different things I had ordered, I thought the tacos were decent. The chips and salsa we good. But all of it was nothing amazing or fantastic compared to other Mexican food I had eaten. The only thing that was unique was this orangeish spicy sauce they gave me. Tacos Sabrositos has been a favorite taqueria of mine for a while now. They serve great authentic Mexican food. The seating area is a little bigger than most small taquerias but gets full fast at lunch time.

The fajita tacos are my favorite. The fajita meat is chopped up, flavor is just right and they are very tender. All their breakfast tacos are great too. One thing they don’t short you on is the fillings in your tacos. They pack them full! Beans and rice are good as well.

I have tried three of their salsas. The house salsa they serve with their chips is mild and a good salsa. The chips come out hot and taste freshly made.
