We came here to have dinner with friends, there were five of us. This place can seat groups of any size, although it is a bit limited so they would not be able to accommodate several large groups. We brought two bottles of wine and a few ordered sodas/water, so not much to review in the way of drinks (typical fountain soda, free refills).
The server was a very nice gentleman, he was super attentive the entire night. We were there about two hours. He greeted us at the door, prepared the table and sat us promptly. He took our drink order and came back with them along with our first bottle of wine opened and some wine glasses. Shortly after, he brought two baskets of HUGE garlic "knots," but these were the size of a giant cinnamon roll. The bread was cooked perfectly, although it was a bit dense. The flavor was delicious and the tops were buttery with a hint of garlic, perfect if you don't care to knock folks down with your breath afterward.
I ordered some Mozzarella Marinara ($8.95) for the table and it was tasty. The cheese sticks were thick, warm and gooey. Served with marinara on the side, I didn't try it because I feel it overpowers the fried mozzarella but others at the table enjoyed it!
As for my entree, I got the Alfredo with Fettuccine and Shrimp ($10.95 + $4.00). My other half ordered the Al Pesto Genovese with Fettuccine and Chicken ($10.95 + $2.00). Both of our dishes were absolutely divine! There was ample sauce on the pasta, which we discussed at our table as rarely being the case at some other italian restaurants like Olive Garden. The sauce was slightly lighter in viscosity as well, so if you wanted to take some to-go, it seems as though it would reheat better. I can't leave out my clam chowder - it was so good, I would come back to eat that as the meal. I don't claim to be a clam chowder connoisseur, but this is not something you can find frequently in the area (at least that I'm aware of). I liked that I could order it as a side to my pasta, instead of a salad, and I didnt have to order it as an entire entree/bowl just to enjoy some of it.
With the wonderful service, great tasting food and ambiance, we will...
Read moreWe had friends bring us here for dinner and I was thankful to learn about this great location for Italian food. When we walked in they had a 50th Birthday party in half of the restaurant and they had just sat 4 other tables before us. They were upfront letting us know that they had just seated a lot of tables, but got us a table. They brought us water, a wine opener (it is byob), and some bread. I can wait quite a while if I have these three essentials.
It really was not that long of a wait until they came and got our order, and once we had ordered the food was coming to the table in to time at all. They had a special called Fettuccine Adriatika witch was sauteed shrimp, crabmeat and spinach in a creamy brandy sauce over fettuccine. There was a lot of great looking items on the menu, but this special had my interest from the start so that is what I got.
A pasta entree comes with a soup or a salad. I went for the clam chowder which was good, not over packed with potatoes and a great start to the meal. It did taste like they make it using chicken stock instead of a seafood stock which was interesting, lots of chicken flavor.
The pasta dish was excellent. The sauce was a nice thickness and had a slight brandy taste. The sprimp were large and well cooked, and the crab meat was definitely identifiable and tasty. I was very pleased with my dish and thought it was a fair value for the price. My wife had Al Pesto Genovese which she enjoy very much. She thought that this was going to be more of a pesto instead of a pesto cream sauce, but she ate the whole plate.
This was a great dinner and was very a great value for the the types of food they serve. I look forward to coming back here again and trying some more of their...
Read moreMy wife and I ate here once, and we enjoyed what we ordered. We were thinking of returning on a night where we couldn't quite decide where we wanted to go. Went to their "website" looking for their menu. They've got everything on their website... directions... contact number... hours of operation. But you know what they don't have on their website? Go on, guess... you'll never guess... Yeah... THEIR MENU. There's a picture of their menu on the Zmenu site, but it's only a picture of their lunch menu, not the dinner menu. Seriously, how do you go to all the trouble of building a website and not put your menu on it? It's literally THE most important thing a restaurant needs on their website... the thing that will entice patrons to your business.
So, I'm doling out three stars for the good food, I would have given them a five but I deducted two for the annoyance caused by forgetting to attach their menu to their website. Once they correct this irritating oversight, I'll correct my review. I should also add that, due to this oversight, my wife and I ended up choosing another...
