Our first time at Beauâs and donât know why we waited so long to try it. My husband wanted breakfast at 1 pm, and Beauâs is one of the few places that could deliver. My husband had the French omelette with a side of sausage and I had the hot jam chicken with a side of bacon. We also ordered the breakfast potatoes w/cheese to share. Holy cow, it was a ton of food. Both of our entrees came with side salads, which were simple, but delicious (spring greens tossed in their dressing). Whatever they batter their chicken in was amazing, and the chicken was juicy and delicious. The French omelette was creamy with an herby cheesy flavor. The bacon is thick cut and well cooked, not chewy and underdone and not burnt to a crisp. The breakfast potatoes đ€€ Iâve never had potatoes prepared like that. Itâs the thing that looks like a pie slice in my photos. Thinly sliced potatoes layered, well seasoned and generously coated with finely shredded cheese. The only bad thing I have to say is they shouldnât serve ketchup with the breakfast potatoes. They are so delicious, ketchup would ruin the experience. 10/10 recommend. We will be back.
UPDATE: This is our 4th visit, and theyâve changed the lunch sandwich selection. We split the fried green tomato and shrimp Louise and mortadella sandwiches. Chefâs kiss. They have once...
Read moreI almost literally stumbled across Beau's while walking from a nearby tire store to the library. My main goal of the morning was to kill some time, and I was in the middle of the thought "Where can I maybe get some coffee first?" when I turned my head and saw Beau's Cafe immediately to my right. What luck! With a wife-open agenda and an empty belly, I gave it a shot.
I was seated right away. The decor is pleasantly unremarkable, but the soundtrack was upbeat jazz - very "Princess and the Frog" vibes. The menu featured a lot of intriguing dishes, with pretty much every selection having some sort of unusual twist or stand-out ingredient. I wanted to sample some standards for my intro, so just ordered a biscuit, eggs, bacon AND sausage. All excellent, but they did leave me curious about the more custom fare. I will definitely be going back to figure out what a "Dutch baby" is!
My server was quick and friendly, hitting that sweet spot between "available" and "coming around the table too often." Prices were fair, comparable to other nice breakfast-forward restaurants, but more than your typical hash-slinging griddle joint. It's not an especially accessible location for much of the city, but well...
Read moreWent around 11:30 on a Sunday morning, was given the expectation of a 25 minute wait. Ended up being closer to 10 15 so we were optimistic. Immediately ordered, as the menu is small (not a complaint, just for context). Hot coffee was almost overflowing once it arrived at the table, very little room for milk & sugar. Then waited close to 40 minutes for food, in a relatively small space. Once it arrived, my wife's meal was just a biscuit sandwich with no sides or accompanying salad or potatoes, and my salad was just overdressed mixed greens. Also my bottom biscuit was already soaked, which forced me to use a knife and fork on a sandwich. Also, there was an overwhelming amount of chili crisp that is still lingering on my palate 2.5 hours later. Once the food arrived, the waitress disappeared until she was serving another table and happened to ask if we were ready for a check. Local place trying to be close to First Watch. I'd rather just go to first watch and will from...
