Maybe it was just our meal 05/20/16 This was just about the worst food I've ever had . Very Very Heavy handed on salt the chips were over salted and the salsa was also . we ordered Con queso dip used one chip to taste it then pushed it to the side of our table it almost tasted like it was made with velveeta cheese way to salty to eat with the salty chips ordered shrimp tacos and the Friday special think it was called bubba burrito I ordered the shrimp tacos thinking they would be grilled and not covered in salt. I was wrong deep fried shrimp with a very salty cream sauce shared 1taco with companion we both took one bite the frying of the shrimp left the taste of old cooking oil in your mouth along with the back taste of salt.... the Bubba Burrito had grilled onions and meat inside this was ok "not drenched in salt" but still not tasty enough to eat more than 3 bites we tried the rice and the beans and decided both weren't good enough to waste what taste buds we had left on. ..wait staff ..ok had to ask another waiter for napkins & eventually ask our server on refills on drinks He did ask if we wanted to-go plates we said no and I told I realized it wasn't his fault but the food was salted to the point we could not eat it .. he did come back and offer us cards for 2 free Burritos but we declined and said we weren't planning on coming back as I am writing this the meal was over 2 hrs ago and I can still taste salt on my lips.....I think if Chuy's relied on better chefs and fresher ingredients it would be an ok mid range restaurant I only gave it a 2 because the were playing 80's music without that I would have given them a...

My fiancé and I were searching for a good caterer for our wedding that is taking place later this year. When meeting the Chuy’s staff and coordinator, they were very welcoming and answered all of our questions. We thought we had found the one—personable, dependable and the food was great. However, upon following up with the restaurant about forming a contract and placing a downpayment, we were told things such as “we’ve never really had this much back and forth with someone about catering, especially for a smaller wedding.” Upon explaining that most of our vendors immediately sent contracts and requested some form of down payment, and that we just wanted to make sure our bases were covered, we were told we could seek another caterer if we were uncomfortable. After about 2-3 months of having confirmed with them, we were more than a little shocked to get backlashed for checking in and trying to get a contract put in place. It felt very unprofessional and very different from how we had communicated with them in the past. If you want a caterer that allows for payment plans or putting half down early on, this is not the one for you. We are very disappointed and now having to search elsewhere due to their reaction on something we assumed needed to be taken care of. What’s sad is I have liked Chuy’s and their food for years. I've always liked Chuy's, atmosphere is nice. I always got thier tacos salads because they were awesome with handmade fried tortillas. I was so disappointed yesterday when I ordered the taco salad as usual and it came to the table with no shell!

The menu had changed and I didn't read it close enough. My fault there but it just was nowhere near the same. I usually got the steak version but ordered chicken this time and the chicken seemed like it was a smaller portion and the smaller pieces were crunchier and over grilled. I won't be getting taco salads here anymore unfortunately. Still four stars because everyone else's food looked good and I still love the jalapeno dip.

The salad was well priced for what it was but we ordered queso dip for the free chips and it was over $8 and that seemed a bit pricey.

The first tortilla my boyfriend got with his soup was not that great, was a little cruncy around the edges like it had been sitting awhile, but he requested more and the next ones they brought were warm and fresh as expected.

Overall, I feel like maybe COVID caused some menu changes that we didn't like and I wasn't as happy with the food quality but the service was fast and good, and the ambiance was the same.
