Monarca Authentic Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Lexington

My husband son and I are Mexican food lovers! We could literally eat it every single day, so when we found out Monica was opening literally 5 minutes away from our house we were pretty excited. When they first opened we went there every single day and always ordered the same thing which is chicken fajitas with only the chicken and green peppers no onions or tomatoes. We get extra chicken and extra green peppers , a cheese dip, and then the chips and salsa that comes with the meal. Every single time the mail has came to $26.75. well here lately we haven't been going to the restaurant I've been calling the order in and going to pick it up the same exact order and it is always still been $26.75. well tonight that's what we decide to do and when I walk in to pay for my order somebody informs me that they have to charge me for the extra chicken which will make my order $35.70. and I'm not going to lie I kind of got upset and angry because I've been coming here for months and they have never charged me that much for my meal. I hate even sounded like this type of person because it has nothing to do with the moneyit's just the fact that out of nowhere my meal is now almost $10 more than what it's been the whole time we've been coming here. And most of the time when I order on the phone they don't tell me the total but this time I asked them for the total and on the phone they told me $26.75 but waited until I got there to tell me that it would be $35.70. needless to say I'm at El Toro sitting in the parking lot because I can get all of that for $30 and in my opinion the food here is a...

Muy Bueno! A must try new spot! This restaurant is a fantastic addition to the neighborhood. The food is very authentic. Probably one of the best original margaritas I have had. They have a full bar, plus happy hour even on Saturday night! They also have a kids menu that is very affordable with great variety for every kid. The menu overall is extensive with appetizers, vegetarian dishes, house specialties as well as your favorite traditional quesadillas, tacos and burritos. This is probably one of the few Mexican restaurants I have been to that also has a good selection in desserts. When you walk in the door expect to be treated like a friend of the family. The service was lively and fast. Don't be afraid to ask to change up a menu item. I was able to get a substitution with no problem and no extra charge. We just stopped by the freshly opened Monarca Authentic Mexican Restaurant! We were excited to support a new family-owned restaurant. To our delight, we greatly enjoyed our visit and will be back again.

The service was super friendly. Our waiter, Kentor, was an absolute pleasure to chat with and added a personal touch to our visit.

The interior is inviting and well decorated. There's a bar and various booths and tables allowing for ample visitors. We decided to sit on their patio with our dog as the weather was quite pleasant.

We ordered some fajitas and they came out surprisingly quick. The fajitas were delicious and the ingredients seemed fresh. We had everything we needed for a delightful Mexican dinner.
