Noodles and Company — Restaurant in Lexington

We used to love this place. My son and I usually split the Shrimp Pad Thai once a week. We went yesterday, and it was awful. They started using 8 of those tiny salad shrimp instead of the 5 lg prawns they used to use, there was also no sprouts or green onion. The sauce was even different. I always ask for extra spicy, and it's still not spicy. Yesterday, there was so much red pepper, it turned the noodles a reddish brown. It was so hot I couldn't eat more than a few bites. We also got the Beef Stroganoff for the first time. It had alfredo sauce. It wasn't good at all. I called the manager who informed me they had made a lot of changes this month. She offered to replace my Pad Thai, but I don't like the new recipe, so I requested a refund. She informed me she could not do that. She was friendly, polite, and professional throughout the entire exchange. But, they have definitely lost our business. I know that doesn't affect them at all. The floors were sticky, and every table but 4 had trash on them.. The drink station was sticky and had wet straws on the counters and straw wrappers everywhere. The bathrooms were dirty beyond what any restaurant bathroom should have been and the food was mediocre at best.. I had Pad Thai with Chicken and there was something off with the meal. I couldn't really pinpoint were the taste had gone wrong but took 4 bites and through the rest away. I ordered 6 potstickers and they were overcooked but still edible, unlike the Chicken Pad Thai. Most of the people behind the counter and in the kitchen area seemed like they didn't care about their work and it showed in every other aspect of that place. I was with a friend of mine and we both decided that we'd never be going back.

I love the food here! Unfortunately today I didn’t get to eat here like I do when I have an appointment in Lexington. We entered the restaurant and stood for 5-10 minutes and the girls working did not acknowledge us, take our orders or even look at us. Then an Asian man with an unsightly growth on his face came in from outside and directly went behind the register and took the order of a man who had just walked in. We had been there over 10 minutes by then. After the customer made his order the man behind the register still didn’t greet us or even look our way. I almost thought we’d become invisible. It wasn’t until I said “Well let’s go. I’m starved and apparently invisible here!” To which the man behind the register finally responded “GOODBYE! Have a nice day!” 😮 How disappointing because I will never eat here again and I really like the food.
