Papi's Rapido — Restaurant in Lexington

It’s cinco de Mayo. We were planning on going to a sit down Mexican restaurant, but my infant daughter decided she had other plans. In a pinch, my sister-in-law and I decided we were going to give this place a try (since it’s a drive-thru). We were very skeptical. A drive thru Mexican restaurant? To-go margs? We couldn’t resist. As we got there, we reviewed the menu and decided on the street tacos with a plethora of sides (beans, rice, salsa, & spicy guac). We pull up to the window and asked the employee “on a scale of 1-10 how strong are your margs?” At first, he didn’t hear me. I had to repeat myself, and so, I did. Without doubt or hesitation in this man’s voice, he said “it’s 9 out of 10” and boy did he not lie. I sit here drunk off a couple sips writing this damn review. I could not let this go unknown to the public, I am very impressed. Give em a try.

P.S. The food does...

I have been to Papi's restaurant and have always had great food there, so I had high hopes this would be a good experience - but this is my first and last visit to Papi's Rapido. The Street Corn was a major disappointment - basically canned corn topped with cotija cheese and seasoning and after the topping, you just have kernel corn and juice. Had it been roasted corn, it would've helped. Had there not been all of the juice, that would have helped - but overall it was horribly disappointing. I tried the pastor cauliflower as a street taco and if not for the onion and green sauce, there would have been no flavor. The service was terrific and the time to get my order was great - but the food was just not good and I'm so glad that I didn't order...

My family and I tried the lunch burrito with grilled chicken the tex Mexican tacos 2 hard and 1 soft. 2 hard were ground beef and grilled chicken. The ground beef is very good had alot of juice running out of it and no it was not grease it tasted better than taco bells and taco Tico ground beef. Their grilled chicken taco was a Lil dry but the flavor was great! The soft shell was their beef aside and man was it good. Cooked right not rubbery. Their lunch burrito was crammed full and it was good. I tried the Verde sauce and the queso and both were good. Both had a slight kick but were very good still dunked my burrito in the Verde and queso. They did not skimp on the meat or any ingredient in anything we ate . The prices are awesome.Will...
