Today I ordered a tofu Bahn Mi, tofu salad rolls, and chicken on a stick to go. When I picked up the food I checked the bahn mi and was very confused because what was on it didn’t look like tofu (see photo). I brought it to the employee at the counter to show her, thinking they had mistakenly put something other than tofu on it, but then she explained that it is imitation ham made from tofu. When I said that is not what is listed on the menu (the menu just says “tofu”) she just kept repeating that it was made of tofu so that was correct. They have other menu items with normal tofu so I asked if they could make a bahn mi with normal tofu instead and she said no, that was not an option and that they only offer the imitation ham on the sandwiches. I explained I didn’t want ham flavored tofu and that is not what I thought I was ordering. They refunded the sandwich. I advised that they change the item on their menu and they said they couldn’t do that because they were all printed. They also stated that multiple other customers had complained about the same issue, yet when I ordered they did not explain that it was imitation ham and not regular tofu.
The chicken on a stick was also incredibly dry, like the texture of jerky, and not a good flavor. And the tofu salad rolls were also very bland and the noodles inside were overcooked and mushy.
Overall very disappointing since I have been here in the past and enjoyed their pho. Just wanted to warn others about the tofu bahn mi so nobody else gets the same...
Read moreI just fell in love with pho recently and was excited to try Pho BC for the first time. The online ordering process is confusing because even if a dish doesn’t have certain ingredients in general, there are still check boxes for “no (insert ingredient)” which made me think they typically put those things in and I needed to ask them not to.
I think my assumptions confused the preparation of my beef pho because key ingredients like cilantro and onion were left out.
I also put “not spicy” on everything. I can’t do spice, but I love the flavor of well seasoned pho. They respected that request until I got to my hoisin sauce which had about a tablespoon of hot sauce in it. This ruined my pho. :(
I also got salad rolls. I had marked “no mint” on my pho, bc again, there was a check box asking if I wanted no mint. Instead, they left mint out of the summer rolls and the taste was really affected. They also didn’t put saran wrap between them (just around them together) so I ripped them both open to try and get them apart. I just trashed them.
I am so disappointed. I drove across town to get this meal and was so excited to try it. I spent almost $30 and my whole experience was ruined. I’m sure I would have had a better experience if I had called my order in, but I should also be able to order online efficiently if a restaurant offers that option. They also had my number and could have called me to ask any questions about my order instead of assuming.
I’m just really disappointed and...

Food tasted fine and portions were enough. I would have still gave 4-5 stars even though there was a piece of plastic tape in my pho. I gave one star because after I had finished eating and let the waiter know (though mistakes can happen, they need to know to be able to prevent them in the future) he simply grabbed the plate with the tape and walked away without apologizing. We waited at the table but no one came back and took responsibility or apologized. Even when we paid, we didn't hear a "sorry," I was just told that one of the phos was removed from the bill - I did not want any compensation, I only wanted an apology which I did not get until I directly asked for one.
I don't blame the waiter because they are young, but they told the chef/owner (whoever was in the back) but no one addressed the situation. Mistakes happen, but finding stuff in your food that doesn't belong there is not right. That being said, I still ate it and really enjoyed it.
I hope if I ever return there, they take better responsibility and have a bit...
