Save yourself the stress and headache of this lackluster store and shop the Michaels website instead. That way you get the items that you want, and for the prices that are on the"website" because even if they have the items, which they won't, the prices are far better on the website, which they Won't match because it's "website" only, so why even have a store, well it's to get more money from unsuspecting customers who don't know what I figured out and to grab more money from your pocket. I purchased (2) frames in store which they wouldn't sell me for the listed prices that were marked in their store and it really rubbed me the wrong way so when I returned home after shopping and dinner for the day I decided to go to the website and I purchased everything that I wanted to buy 90 percent of which I was informed was online only from a store employee and the 2 frames I bought for $50 I was able to buy on their website and get (6) Belmont Grand frames for $95, hmmm yes so (2) in store for $50 plus tax or (6) on the website for $95, plus I purchased multiple bundles of other items that they didn't have in store and I received free shipping... On top of that while in-line talking to an elderly lady the Bald manager and a worker were badly talking, openly, and loud enough for anyone in a 20 foot radius to hear about a lady who called in on the phone with an item she had a problem with. So we are now in the day and age where the Manager and Another Employee disrespectfully talk about a customer openly and loudly enough for numerous customers to hear, Shame on them not because of me but because of the other women / elderly customers who overheard all of it and I smiled and said tis the season to help break up the unease and tension that was present to the ladies in line over hearing some Potato head Manager and an Employee degrade another customer, real classy!! Go elsewhere shoppers or at least the Michaels online store/website to get what you want, for the Much Better Prices, Than In Store And Not having to listen to Disrespectful workers talk/ belittle other customers...
Read moreJust left Michael's. I'm usually a Hobby Lobby person, but our location in Lexington leaves me so close to this store. So, I've been trying it out for the last week now. It seems there are never any associates available other than one lonely person at the register. Today, I selected about ten spools of ribbon to make my toddler some hair bows. I needed to get some clips/barrettes to glue them to. Walked up and down the three aisles of ribbon they have, no clips. Walked all around the store looking for an associate, no associate. There were plenty of customers shopping, but no associates. So I looked up and down almost every aisle. I then came across an associate and Steve the store manager, shirt un-tucked, and in jeans that look fit for a bar, and I should have known what I was in for. I went up and asked where I could find hair barrettes. Neither of them had any clue what I was talking about. I had checked online, and it said they were available in stores, so I showed them this. The manager seemed annoyed and walked away while the associate led me to something that was similar (kind of, but not really). I finally said forget it, and got in line to get my ribbon. The line was about 7-8 people long. I looked around to see one lonely girl working the only register open (out of 6) and Steve the store manager was still standing there at the front of the store, back to the front doors even, talking to the other associate with his arms folded in front of him. He must be scared he's going to have to actually work. VERY poor customer service. Eventually he saw me staring at him standing there and called another associate away from the framing dept to come help at the cash registers.
Besides the poor customer service, why wouldn't you sell something that it says you all sell in stores? Please take that off your website, as it is a lie.
Probably won't be trying Michael's again anytime soon. I'll make the trek through traffic to...
Read moreDO NOT order anything online that's on sale on their website if you have any hope at all of receiving it as a pick-up inside/curbside purchase.
According to an Assoc at this store, Michael's as a Corp does not keep proper inventory of their items avail in the store which are avail for curbside/in-store pick-up. Worst of all, they go ahead and take your money out of the bank immediately to pay for the items you've ordered (which they've oversold & have no intention of fulfilling) because the orders are filled on a first-come/first-served basis. Yet it takes up to FIVE business days to return the funds to the customer's bank once they realize they made a mistake?! Meaning the customer not only does NOT get their items from Michael's at all, but they have no other recourse than to wait up to 5 business days to have their money returned so they can buy it elsewhere.
This just happened to me for the 2nd time on Christmas Night, but at least I know now that it's not a store-level problem; it's Corporate! I completed a survey in grave detail outlining this problem. Their response? Another survey. No apology, no compensation for the trouble, no assurances that they're investigating the prob and seeking solutions. Just.....nothing.
And as for their rewards system, it's great in theory. But the last three times I shopped there (and was sure to give them my info) NONE of my purchases wound up in my rewards account so that's a useless "benefit".
The store itself runs as well as possible given the general lack of employees that many Corps are facing right now. It's even kept relatively clean, the employees are helpful and items are easy to find..... IN...
