I ordered two rolls and an appetizer through door dash. I was sent the wrong order. When I called the restaurant she said there wasn’t anything she could do but that she had my food. This was the manager or owner I was speaking to. I told her I could just make it easier on everyone and drive there. She said that was fine. She did not tell me that once I drove there she would refuse to give me the food that I payed for because I was sent the wrong and now she had lost money. I understand, however I’m just a customer, and that’s not my fault that is doordash and sushi blues fault. If sushi blue is unhappy with their partnership with door dash they should discontinue it. None of this is my fault and I’m the one being asked to pay for it. So the manager of this restaurant is refusing to give me the food I payed to have delivered, that I’m now picking up, until I pay for the wrong meal that I received. I refused to do that. They asked me to then call door dash, which I already told them I did and I’m not obligated to do anything else. It is not on door dash and sushi blue. Restaurants should be prepared to lose meals like this. This happens everywhere and never have I been forced to be held accountable as a customer. I’ve worked in many restaurants and have never forced a customer to be held accountable for the restaurants mistake. At this point, it’s been an hour and half. The food I ordered has raw fish. Even if I had agreed to pay for the wrong meal I received I would then have finally received the right order that has been sitting for an hour and a half. I called door dash again and asked for a refund was quickly reimbursed with no fight from their customer service. Which means I have a sushi order at my hotel that I do not want to eat and sushi blue has a sushi order I refused to take out of principle. So now because sushi blue has treated me this way there are two sushi orders they have lost money for instead of one like they were originally complaining to me, the customer, about. So by treating me this way they have lost out on double the money so I don’t understand the point of the manager/owner doing this. I may ya e gotten my money back but this entire thing took three hours of my life and I...
Read moreThis is one of the more interesting restaurants one is likely to find. It is not located in a particularly fashionable part of town (perfectly safe, you just wouldn't expect a fabulous restaurant to be located here--if you found it downtown atop an office building or next to a club you would think it made perfect sense.) The clientele is about the most eclectic you are likely to find. The sushi and sashimi are the best I have ever had. And certainly the freshest. I can't say anything about the other entrees. I get sashimi, miso soup, salad, and green tea every time. But based on the reactions if friends who do venture past the divine sashimi, it must be delicious. The service is quick, smart, and unobtrusive. They obviously keep their eyes on you because when you need something they are right there to provide it. Otherwise, your conversation can continue interrupted. Prices are reasonable. My soup, salad and six orders of ala carte sashimi was $31 (excluding tip.) Best part .. you can eat there well into the night. They don't...
Read moreNot sure if we came during an off-period but the food was extremely subpar. We started off with a calamari appetizer and you only get six pieces (which, to the restaurant’s credit, the menu does mention) of calamari. What it does not mention is the size, which for $11, I would expect them to be substantial (which they were not). They were also over fried to the point that it was almost inedible. The sauce that they paired it with was lovely.
I ordered the seafood ramen, and I’m fairly certain it was from a packet ramen. If I’m ordering from a restaurant, I would expect to receive fresh ramen noodles. Furthermore, it was $20 for this dish and I received two mussels and two overboiled shrimps. To not even have fresh noodles and only receiving four pieces of seafood in my dish, I could have made this dish myself for 1/20th the cost.
Overall, a fairly disappointing experience as we expected much better based on reviews and word of mouth. The atmosphere and service itself...
