All food items served plain so you can go to the "bar" to top your chili or burger or dog or pasta with items that range from mushrooms and onions to basic lettuce and tomato. They also have a drink bar to if you need a beer. As for the chili. It was okay. More sweet and saucy versus hearty and meaty. For a venue that highlights chili I would like to see a more hearty chili along with kicking it up a notch to bring a uniquely bold flavor versus the saucy bland chili I experienced. My chili required a second trip to the chili bar to add cheese and sour cream and jalapenos and crackers to get some flavor and heartiness. The burger was also simply just okay. The patty itself was fresh and seasoned nicely and reasonable size, but the burger lacked the level of quality I would expect from a place that highlights burgers. The patty should be slightly thicker to allow more of a medium to medium well cook time or if they prefer the well done patty approach the cook process should be updated to make the burger unique with a nice char. So patty was nicely seasoned but not at a gourmet level. Plus. The bun needs a serious upgrade from mass produced flaky bun that falls apart to fresh baked bun made daily. On the good side. Super friendly staff. Inviting environment. The topping bar was fresh. Prices...
Read moreI have now gone on two occasions and both times have left satisfied. 1st time I went on my own and ordered the Chili Pie. This was made with Fritos, sour cream and cheese then smothered by Chili then topped off with more cheese and 4 tortilla chips. This was a great meal. My only feedback is even with the Large I was still not full. So the portion is a tad lighter than I like but truly enjoyed the meal. On the second trip I brought my daughter and she got a small Chili Pie while I got the large 12oz Chili with Spaghetti noodles added. I topped this off with some Hot Sauce and enjoyed yet another great meal. The style of Chili is more like a Cincinnati style versus a heavy meaty style. My next trip will be to grab a Burger of which they are also capable of making. They make burgers with a smashed patty style. The inside is nice, location is easy enough to get in and out of. The place is only open 11a-2p 6 days a week and the seating is a little small and tends to get cramped quickly. top this off with a pretty solid bit of traffic in the limited time...
Read moreI've never left a review in my life, but this place was that bad. Absolutely awful. Please do not come here and waste your money. We ordered two chicken sandwiches, two side salads, and an order of chips. This was not even close to mediocre. We had to return our salads and request new ones because the lettuce was disgusting. We got new salads which were better and they upgraded the salad size and offered to let us use the salad bar. The salad bar had obviously been sitting out all day, possibly two days. The veggies were dry and brown, the dressings seemed like they'd gone off. We sat down to eat, we had to pick the lettuce off of our sandwiches because it was old. I got through a bite of my salad and two of the sandwich and couldn't make it further. Worst food I've ever had. We walked out, not even wanting to bother. Wasted almost 30 dollars. The place is unclean, the staff clueless, and I would love to know how old the food was they served us. Don't...
