Shaking Seafood & Wings — Restaurant in Lexington

Me and friend came here for dinner. I love a good seafood boil and my friend is a Louisiana native so she’s privy to them as well. Service was extremely slow as it took about 10 minutes for us to be greeted after we were sat. (Wednesday evening) we ordered our drinks which were just coke and water. It took a while and, a team lead maybe, stopped by and asked us if we had been greeted and what we were drinking. She brought us our drinks promptly. A few minutes after, our waitress brought us our drinks again that the team lead had already delivered. We told her it was fine to leave the now extra drinks, and we would get to them. We ordered our appetizer and let the waitress know we would be splitting the boil bag. We ordered alligator bites for an appetizer. The appetizer and entree came out at the same time. We both tried the bites, which are heavily marinated in Tabasco. The flavor wasn’t bad but the texture was incredibly hard and crunchy and the bites had almost no meat to them. They were tiny crunchy breaded hot sauce flavored things. We weren’t feeling them at all. The boil special was delicious. No complaints there. Garlic butter was on point, plenty of shrimp, potatoes, etc. when we let the waitress know that we weren’t please with the appetizer, she got the team lead for us. The team lead came to the table and listened to our opinions without debate or biased and said she’d take care of it since her boss was gone. She took the appetizer and went to go handle it presumably. A few moment later, a gentleman who identified himself as the owner brought the basket of bites back with one in his hand and demonstrated by eating it that that’s how they were supposed to taste. I asked him if that was our basket, disgusted that he would ate after us to prove a point, and he said yes and continued to tell us how the bites were prepared. I told him it wasn’t a problem with the marination process or the flavor, they simply just weren’t what we were looking for as far as texture and consistency. He let us know that this was a very expensive product and sometimes not even available and then stated “do us a favor and let me give you 25% off”. I could hardly hear him because my mind was telling me there’s no way this man is eating the food in front of us that we just sent back. He doesn’t know if we coughed all over the food or dropped it in the seats and put it back or anything and he was steady munching away, as if him damn near breaking a molar to prove a point, was going to make the appetizer more appealing. Needless to say, I will not be returning here. From the actions of this owner, I’d say standard health precautions are probably not in order at this...

My family and I visited May 31st to celebrate my son's graduation. Initially there was a slight miscalculation regarding the number in our party, however the manager was so gracious and accommodated us all very quickly. We were blessed to have Shirley as our server. This young lady was the absolute nicest, most attentive server I've encountered in years. She has such a kind sweet manner and she explained menu details so clearly and was even very patient with those in our party who weren't quite sure what to get. At the completion of our meal she even took the time to explain that there was an 18% gratuity added(since we had a party of 11). We honestly felt like that wasn't even enough for her.. she is PHENOMENAL and I'm certain that if you visit and have the pleasure of meeting her you'd feel the same way. I had to thank the manager for his kindness as well. People really don't have to be nice to you but he was and I truly appreciate that. The restaurant is very clean, the decor is fun and the location is ideal (Hamburg area). Most of us in our party ordered the 1lb snow crab, one ordered the king crab and a combination meal. That shaking combo sauce is better than any I've tasted here locally. A couple of them ordered the wings and stated that they were cooked to perfection. The food was good. Every time I have came. It is bad customer service I went for my 30th birthday a week ago. It was me my mom, my sister and my sister’s three kids. We were charge gratuity then we were told that the kids meals came with drinks but we’re charged five dollars for each kids drink never was told that they were five dollars so then after we brought it to managements attention that our waiter told us we wouldn’t have to pay gratuity, because six people were ordering only five people ordered in the way the manager handled it was completely unprofessional he yells, and goes off as if he doesn’t know how to handle his self argues with customers! This is not the first time I have experienced him in this manner, and this is the last time we will go back, because we spent too much money on the food to be treated how we are treated and then they try to say that one of the people at the party did not pay and she pulled up her bank receipt where her car was charged. They were harassing other guess that did not order or that had already paid It was just a mess and then every time we had a problem, they grab the other waiter which she was black to handle us because we were black 🤦🏽‍♀️ but then even the waiter said it was ridiculous that they were trying to charge us five dollars for some fruit punch when on the menu.
