So I wanna preface this by saying that we ordered on our way from the doctors appointment to the house so that it would be ready when we got there. The young lady on the phone was very accommodating. She repeated back my order, exactly what it was. She gave me a total on the phone. When we arrived, the pizza was hot and ready. It’s a soft bread style pizza similar to the soft bread you might get at Papa John’s, but it is much better than Papa John’s pizza. The marinara sauce is slightly tangy and very robust. It has a nice texture. The cheese. Oh my the cheese. It was very moderate mozzarella, clearly with some Parmesan and Romano mix in. The crust was covered in Parmesan Romano grated as well. The wings are probably the best wings at a joint like this that we have ever had. They fall off the bone. They are very meaty. We got 10 wings for $10 and we felt like that was a very good deal. It is not served with carrots or celery because this is not a place like that. The cheesy bread was very nice and it was cut in rectangular pieces. We were given four different kinds of sauce, Parmesan cheese, packets, and crushed red pepper. This is a paper plate and brown napkins, sort of joint. The booth and the table and chairs are all upholstered and in good condition and they are very comfortable. This is the kind of place that you can feel comfortable bringing your family. Very informal. Very casual. They do have a selection of canned and bottle beverages behind the counter. We will return. This is a nice hole in the wall joint near the army base. And it’s a great value....
Read more10.29.2025 Update: I tried this location again recently and the service was much better. However, the pizza was lukewarm again. I think they still have an issue with making the pizza right when it comes through instead of closer to the quoted time. I did find out that they have four ghost kitchens at this restaurant. (Baked Potato Company, Best Clucking Wings, College Cookie, and Bomb Burger) I have not tried any of these yet.
Update: I wanted to provide an update. I went back and my experience was the exact opposite of my initial visit. When I got there I had to wait up front for about three minutes before someone came to the counter. When someone did come up front he looked a bit annoyed. I had ordered ahead and arrived at the quoted time. I think they must have made the pizza right when I ordered instead of planning out the arrival time because it was barely warm. I got a small chicken bacon ranch pizza….and they forgot the ranch. The chicken was also extremely dry. Not sure if I will be going back.
Original Post: I tried Stoner's for the first time today and I will be back. I ordered a small "Nice to Meat You" hand tossed pizza. The meat was fresh and the sauce was flavorful. The pizza also came with a side of garlic sauce. I ordered ahead and I got there right when my order was due for pickup. It was hot so I know they timed the cooking according to the pickup time. The customer service representative was friendly and...
Read moreHonestly, I'm very disappointed. When I spend nearly $20 on a single food item from a pizza joint, i expect it to be of a decent portion OR at least good quality. The stromboli i ordered with extra ricotta cheese was not only barely 8 inches long and no wider than a hot dog bun, it had about 3 spinach leaves, a table spoon of sausage crumbles, no ricotta at all, and a sparse sprinkle of mozzarella. The ramekin of marinara was less than half full. The bottom of the container had enough grease to fill the ramekin one and a half times... Did I eat it? Yes... Because i paid for it and being delivery is not like i could return it.
I also ordered cinnamon sticks, they gave me their savory bread sticks, again absolutely saturated in cooking oil to the point the Styrofoam was warped from hot grease being dumped in. Regular hand soap didn't remove the grease from my fingers i literally had to use dawn which is how i know it was oil and not butter.
The price of this stromboli was way too high for the quality and portion. In New York where the cost of living is the times that of Lexington this would have been $6, though no pizza joint in nyc would dare serve this rubbery, unseasoned trash.
You live, you learn... Please learn from my mistake and order from literally...
