sQecial Media is a hidden gem in the Lexington, KY area! I am not from Lexington and this place has quickly become one of my favorites to pop into when walking by! I feel like most people at some point in their life has had the feeling of wanting something but not being able to find it anywhere (in-stores or online). This establishment quenches that feeling! It is a place where you can find things you didn’t even know you wanted. I may not have wanted a tin of candy scooby snacks or a mini music box but will I get them now? Of course! I also love rings and vintage jewelry so it was nice to shop around. The staff are also so sweet and seem to love what they do! I truly believe you could get lost in a place like this (in a good way!) Don't miss out on a unique experience and visit this store! Even if you don't purchase anything you're sure to have a good time :)

My best friend introduced me to this little book and gift shop in Lexington, Kentucky. The owners/workers were very friendly and still COVID-aware in 2025, which was very nice to see. This is definitely the shop to go to for the niche, the avante-garde, and the otherwise hard-to-find. BIPOC and LGBTQ+ created works are given premium shelf space, which was nice. One of my favorite things about the shop was the translated literature section. They had books on one shelf organized by country/language of origin, and I loved browsing through them. I’ve been twice now and I really love this store. I even bought from them online recently during Independent Bookstore Day and was highly satisfied.

sQecial Media is such a unique and nice little store! I frequently visit to grab incense, candles, and other such items. However, they have so much more than that. Ranging from crystals, statues, books, tapestries, herbs, and a whole lot of other stuff! Items are fairly priced, the store is clean and organized, and the staff is immensely helpful. Definitely one of my favorite places to visit up in Lexington! Plus, they do not require masks anymore which is a plus! Makes it easier to smell the incense and candles.

First time visit today. Friend brought me. Loved it the moment I walked in the door and couldn’t wait to see everything they had. Working my way thru browsing, I’m at a glass shelf (literally right in front of the cashiers counter) with all sorts of boxes and statues and other really cool pieces. I’m looking through and found a couple things I wanted to purchase…. That’s when one of the employees started following me around the shelf pretending to put stuff back that hadn’t even been moved “watching” me as I was seriously shopping. I had cool wooden stash box and a beautiful ceramic dish in my hand as I was walking to the end of the shelf, this employee walks around me and takes the ceramic dish out of my hand saying it’s a set and needs a box.. then turns right back around and brings it back with a basket for me to put my stuff in. Not sure if this is her normal behavior or not and honestly it doesn’t matter to me I won’t be back there. But watching me and watching me like a hawk while snatching things out of peoples hands are 2 different things. There’s a lot of ways I could have acted and responded to that as it was very uncalled for and if I really didn’t want to give my items as gifts for Christmas I would have put it back and left. I finished browsing, cashed out and left. As cool as the store is, employees are not and because of that I’ll never be back! I now regret spending...

I have been shopping at this store since 1975? I was only 15 then. It's been a long time since I've been there because I live out of town. However, I stop in whenever I can. Anytime I go in this shop, it's like stepping into a time machine. Aaahhh the memories. This place is an absolute Diamond!! I bought my first Heavy Metal magazine from this shop. They have always had a wide assortment of books, and magazines. I bought my first incense sticks here. They have always had the most unique gifts, and mystical items. The atmosphere is always relaxing, and the employees have always been super nice and friendly. This shop has some really cool novelty gifts, collectables, magical items, candles, and a wide variety of decor as well. This shop is a one of a kind. If you have never been here before, you should drop in sometime, and browse around. Go ahead, step into this fantastic Time Machine and see where it takes you. I'll see you all soon. Please like and...

My favorite place....My mom and dad took me there in 1975, when they first discovered it, so yeah, guess I 'Grew Up' with this place.....Memories. At the time, the owner and her husband operated it, until he passed away, now she runs it with some awesome staff, btw. I've introduced my children to this place, so, yeah, it's a family affair, lol.

Btw, they have a little bit of everything thing, for young and old.... Old School toys, incense, smoking products/supplies, candles, gems, decorative art, jewelry, crystals, room decor, and, well, BOOKS(on any lifestyle. So check them out! Tell them Tanya and Charm(the Crystal Queens....since we buy so much when we go lol) sent you. You won't be disappointed!!

They're located on the top floor, in the 2-story red brick building besides the McDonald's on S. Limestone. They have a small parking lot in back of the building, so DO NOT park in McDonald's parking lot. McDonald's WILL...
