If you skip this restaurant, you're doing yourself a disservice.
I was really suspect of a place that used the Americanized spelling of Tzatziki, but a friend vouched for this restaurant. I am INSANELY glad I took his advice, because when I ordered a lamb gyro, grilled veggies, and some pita, I was most wonderfully surprised. the gyro was one of the best I've had on this side of the Atlantic, and the veggies were made by someone who clearly knows what they're on about-. It's hard to keep zucchini or squash from degrading when exposed to heat, but whoever made those veggies on the night of 27th/march knew what the heck he was on about- There was a flavorful char, but the veggies still had some crisp to them. That's a really hard line to walk. The seasoning is amazing, without being overpowering to American tastes (which my Significant Other can attest to), and the variety of options offered is phenomenal- both in regards to base items available to order, as well as the changes a person can request about individual items. I cannot express enough how much I want to yell about how great this restaurant is, and I really hope someone who hasn't tried it might want to, now. I also hope that someone who wasn't in love with the results from another restaurant doesn't assume they're all the same, and is willing to give Taziki's a try. -As someone who was sure I would regret it, but is now a screaming fanboy, give...
Read moreOur experience began in the parking lot. My wife and I had been treated to a Taziki's experience in Tennessee about a month ago. We are currently in Lexington Kentucky attending a conference and on a whim, thought "what if". Sure enough, our excitement grew as we Googled Taziki's and found one nearby. Upon arriving, we wanted a photo in front of the location to send to our friends in Tennessee. We were about to snap the photo when a gentleman approached from his car wearing a Tazikis's hat. I asked him if we could include him in our photo and he was all in. Little did we know that is was Bill, the Manager. Immediately sensing that we might be new to the Taziki's experience, he began telling us of the restaurant, the employees, the great food options so that by the time we ordered, we felt like we were "part of the Family". Bill was friendly and welcoming as was the entire staff. Awesome customer service! We built our own bowl with the the best grilled chicken, lettuce, peppers, onions, feta cheese, cucumbers, and other ingredients over rice. We included roasted potatoes with our meal which were simply amazing. It was a great dining experience and the food was superb. I used to be the breakfast manager at a Hotel in Inner Harbor Baltimore Md. I know good food and great service when it is presented. Thanks Bill and staff. I would HIGHLY recommend Taziki's for a great meal. Best Regards,...
Read moreThis is my second time in the last few years to eat here and both times the food was good. When you walk in the place from an ambiance is a little underwhelming and impersonal but clean and organized. You walk up to the counter area and there was a menu sitting on a podium to scan through before placing your order. The Counter grilling area is still completed enclosed I am assuming from the COVID period BUT it really makes the environment feeling really muted and unexciting. There is a small opening near the end that says order here and you place the order. We ordered the Grilled Lamb Feast and the Grilled Beef Feast. Price was around $13-$15 for each plate. While the portions are fair and probably the right size for dietary reasons it is a little smaller and a little more expensive than most comparable places (Sahara, Mr. Kabob) and because of the full enclosure just feels less personal and more like a transaction. The meals came out and both were cooked well and tasted great but as I said before portion size was a little smaller than expected especially with the name of Feast attached to it. This feels like an Americanized version of a more personalized small business version and while the food is good it falls a little short compared to the others I named. It does have better hours than Sahara so if you have a craving for Mediterranean food and it's after 5p you will get...
