Texas Roadhouse — Restaurant in Lexington

Steadily declined food portions, service and food quality. Updating my review from a 5 star 5 years ago. Loved this restaurant then, but regretfully I must say it's not lived up to the legend as I remember it to be. Interactions with employees, bad burgers, bad ribeyes with (inordinate amount of gristle), completely well done steaks when ordered "medium", literally the amount of rolls that are handed out are less [5yrs ago- (4) to current date- 2 (individual orders)]..... I could go on and on. How did this specific location move across the road for better location(sign of good revenue)..... turn into basically the worst location? I literally travel to the Harrodsburg Road location for a decent cooked meal (still 2 rolls per individual order). I reviewed this location 5 years ago, but have been a patron far longer. I apologize if this "honest, long time" customers' opinion is too "rude". However, I've literally spent "thousands of dollars" here over the years and hadn't forgotten how well the old owners treated (me) as a customers, my issues (if any). I know that this may be interpreted as an attack on this location, I feel as though this particular location just doesn't care. I literally wrote this review while holding on the phone for 30 MINUTES for a Togo order. "Dohm" advised that seemed a little long, said only (2) people in togo area.... "Hannah" on the 31st minute mark OF MY PHONE CALL did offer to comp my order "thank you". Decided to decline "not looking for a hand out"..... "Durell" unfortunately didn't know corporates email.... MAYBE these managers need help...??? EXTREMELY...

My first time eating in the new location. I had plenty of memories of the older one. Busy night so we had to wait a bit. But, there is probably more waiting area in this restaurant than most any other restaurant I've ever seen. When our table was ready, we were seated in the bar area. Plenty of room for patrons and wait staff to walk through. Didn't feel that I had to move my chair in to make room at all. Uncommon for bar area seating. Our server was named Lauren, and she was on the ball on everything. Drinks stayed full, rolls were frequently brought out and food was quick. Notably, our kids' food was served first. I absolutely appreciate this. Many young kids need their food tended to by the parents (cut up, cooled of, etc.). A table full of adult plates makes this task very difficult. Kudos for consideration!

Food was very good and well prepared. No noticeable signs of sitting under a heat lamp. My kids' food (nuggets and steak) was very tasty. Most kids meals are blah and have that "just warmed up" quality. These were prepared just as if they were adult meals. The steak was outstanding. My little 4yo nearly ate the entire thing. Mind you, my wife would've considered it large enough to order for herself. My other daughter's nuggets were definitely hand made in house. My burger was adequate for a very large appetite, and so was my wife's grilled chicken. Very good quality food for a very agreeable price. Service and atmosphere were great.

Unfortunately we didn’t make it inside for service. We had a large family of 14 people after a funeral and tried to call ahead for seating. Once I called I was placed on hold to talk to a manager. The reason we called ahead was to make sure they had space. After waiting on hold the whole time it took to drive there the manager finally answered and had already heard we had a table of 14 we were trying to seat. When she answered the phone she started saying we don’t seat large parties, we will put you down separately, we will not sit you near each other, we will not set you back to back, and she kept telling me all the things that she could not do for us. I would not be writing this review if she had said it nicely or in a different way. Her tone was so rude that I simply hung up the phone.I was not asking the questions just simply listening to how they could not provide service. A simple we cannot accommodate that would have worked fine. I could not get a word in otherwise. I will not be coming as a small party a large party or any type of party to this location. We were able to go to Chili’s down the road and on the door they said they could not accommodate large parties. At this point we just decided we would go in and see what they could do for us. They actually accommodated all of us in the same section at the same table we had excellent food...
