I want to start by saying I have been a patron of this restaurant for the last four years. Their food has always been decent quality and their service has been good for the price, until recently.
They either came under new management or changed chefs or some other administrative shift because the quality has decreased quite a bit. I've received many pieces of chicken that had bone in them and I will order the large platter only to get skimped and have it barely fill a small metal tray to half height. When I made note of this in my order, I received a call telling me that they weren't going to change anything and since I had already paid for the order through BeyondMenu, there was nothing I could do about it.
So as I write this, I fully expect to receive a partially filled bowl that I paid over 9 dollars for in the next 30 minutes to an hour.
Suffice it to say, I will not be ordering from Wong Wong again. To be fair, I did order the platter without the standard vegetable medley as I don't enjoy peppers or snow peas, but they had always been very generous in the past.
If you get the order as is, your meal will probably be fine, but I won't pay as much as I did only to get a few small pieces of seasoned beef.
It was really the response of the manager on the phone telling me to deal with it that convinced me to give this honest review.

Read moreAlways fairly happy with my experiences from this restaurant. The picture is of a family combination dinner. A LOT OF FOOD. My only complaint is that often I feel the amount of meat in their dishes is fairly disproportionate to the rest of the ingredients. I've ordered several individual combos and felt I received less meat than i expected for the price. That said, it's your typical fast Americanized Chinese food. Very fast service if you go to pick up. Have not tried delivery.
Update: We've been coming to this restaurant since we've lived in the southland area ~4 years. The people who work here, when they get to know your face and regular orders, always treat you like friends. Maybe not chatty old friends, but they recognize you, know your order, and always greet you with a smile. I think restaurants like that are special. The food is Americanized Chinese. They do that genre of food really well, if that is what...
Read moreOriginal Zomato Review 8/27/13 - WONG IS RIGHT. The restaurant is pretty standard Chinese--plain decor, the same faded food signs over the counter, no A/C [hot as hell inside], every electronic device is covered with plastic wrap, etc., but the food is good.
I had the garlic chicken, steamed rice and small egg drop soup. Here's what I liked--the chicken pieces were large and velveted while the garlic sauce was spicy with a touch of sweetness [I had not tasted this before in any garlic chicken]. The vegetables were crisp and stir fried perfectly. All egg drop soup is not created equal--some soups are thick [almost gel like], but Wong Wong's is light, more brothy, and egg pieces are silky as they should be.
Wong Wong is good Chinese fare, reasonably priced, and worthy of a...
