I wish I had known about the services offered at Gem years ago. I had been taking my diamond jewelry twice a year to the store where originally purchased for inspection and repairs. When prongs needed to be re-tipped I had to leave my ring for weeks to be "sent out" somewhere. My ring came back with crooked prongs and never looked quite right. Last fall I finally googled to find a local jeweler. Gem Source showed up with excellent reviews for repair, restoration, and creating new unique pieces of jewelry. Jim Salyer is the jeweler and owner, along with his wife Gerry. Jim restored my diamond marquis to the way it looked in 1979 in the store window. Beautiful.

Gem is not like a chain store with a large inventory of look alike pieces. Jim Salyer and his wife Gerry are owners of this long established business. On one of my visits I discovered a tray of gem stones. I was drawn to an opal that reminded me of a special ring I had that was stolen. Jim told me he could recreate that ring for me. He found two beautiful opals from Australia. Jim took my sketch and created several designs for me to consider. He emailed videos to me and patiently made changes. The ring I received took my breath away. I am so happy with the result. I highly recommend Gem to anyone wanting quality jewelry.
