Update: I'll leave my original review below for transparency. Today was my worst service and I won't be back. In all fairness it wasn't terrible, just the worst since I've been coming here. So , the last time we were here, I felt sick immediately after eating. I went to the bathroom, vomited, but didn't complain because I wouldn't dare blame Elly's if I'm not 100% sure it was because of them. I'm still not sure if it had anything to do with Elly's but that's the reason why I hadn't been in a while. I went back today with my wife. And the waitress took a very long time to come back to us. After taking the order and bringing the food she was gonna for about 30 minutes. No more water, coffee, napkins or checking on us. I don't know if they were understaffed but that was way too long to wait for service. For clarity, I rare even seen her walk pass the table so I can wave her down. After she finally came back she dropped off the check and asked if we wanted a box for the remaining food. I asked for another cup of coffee and more honey (instead of sugar). So, I waited to finished my coffee and still had to wait for her to come take payment. Basically, she took too long to check on us, Elly's charges extra for a small container of honey for some reason. I'm not getting sugar so why am I being charged for honey? Anyway, thank for everything but I won't be back.
I've been here a few times and I've only had a couple different dishes. I typically have a mocha latte, sometimes hot, sometimes cold and they're always pretty good. A little sweet but not bad at all. This is an aesthetically pleasing place. It's bright, the waiters/waitresses are good, but to me its just an ok place. It's not bad by any means but it doesn't stand out to me. I've always been seated in the same place when I go, and I guess I never thought about that until now. It could be because we're always a party of two, but i guess that's an eyebrow raiser. Anyway, if you're curious, this is a good place to grab something to eat. It wont knock your socks off but you'll eat majority...

Service: We were greeted upon arrival, then taken to our table. Drinks were served promptly and food orders taken. The food arrived separately. 2 member of our party received their side of pancakes and without the meal. The meal took an additional 10 minutes to arrive. Upon arrival, the bacon in the skillet was raw. Food poisoning anyone? Another member of our party received a partial meal, pancakes included with the breakfast were provided. Alerted waitress that the food was delayed, she did not return to check on the group for a significant amount of time. When she returned, a request for French toast instead of the missing pancakes was made. The French toast arrives 20 minutes after the original meal.
Food: all of the eggs were over cooked. Literally brown scorch marks but we did not complain. The eggs with American cheese was also scorched. We did not complain.
Billing: We were a party of 6. Two individuals ordered French toast, one was charged $5 and the other $2, same potion. A manager was requested, we were told the breakfast that included pancakes was charged $5 although a substitution was requested. We were not told there was an additional fee for this. The manager said she would remove it from the bill, remember it arrived 20 minutes after the other portion of the meal arrived. The manager returns with the bill and say, I took $3 off the bill. (Story changed, we accepted) The bill also arrived as one check. Upon requesting a split bill, we were told the bill could not be split. The bill also included an “large party” gratuity. No one mentioned there was an automatic gratuity. What constitutes a large party? I’ve never seen this anywhere else for a party of 6.
Anytime there is an additional charge, customers should be given the courtesy to make a decision. Particularly for subpar service demanding an 18% gratuity and substitutions. Undercooked food is just...
Read moreI've been to a spattering of different Elly's a handful of times now. Most of the time it's a pretty enjoyable breakfast. Today (March 23) was just not one of Elly's finer days. I understand there's currently an egg shortage and prices are sky high right now, but industrial sized pre-mixed bagged eggs were clearly the culprit for my omelette being deprived of quality and tasting cheap. What I'm NOT saying is that they use that kind of egg for all their dishes, To the contrary, the Corned Beef Hash Skillet my girlfriend ordered was topped with two very nicely prepared cracked-from-the-shell eggs. To advise future diners here I would suggest being mindful if ordering anything prepared with "scrambled eggs" here though. The hash brown potatoes served with my omelette were absolutely delicious and in retrospect, I should've just ordered a mountain of those. Our server was super personable. I'm not going to put her name here because while she did a nice job considering the crowd for a Sunday morning. I also never received the toast that was supposed to come with my breakfast and I don't want her or anyone else to get in any trouble for that. Mistakes happen sometimes, it was just the unfortunate icing on the bad slice of cake that was my trip here. We visited on a late Sunday morning and it was busy. I'm assuming all the people from the nearby church walked over here for after service brunch. It was chaotic at times and there was a short wait for a table. The individual category ratings I gave here dont necessarily reflect the 1 star I awarded overall, but that omelette was just so awful I couldn't even bring myself to finish it and I have no problem finishing even larger portions than that. I do truly believe this visit was an anomaly. I don't feel that Elly's is typically this unenjoyable. I may visit here again, (and rewrite my review if necessary) but if I do, it surely won't be on a...
