Taco Bell — Restaurant in Leyden Township

Came today (01/24/23 @ 8:00pm) and there was already a problem between a customer and “manager” “Esperanza” was already arguing with a customer. (We initially assumed it was the customer’s fault).

I speak Spanish so I understand what the “manager” says.

So we order through the touchscreen menu and when we sit down and then we hear her yelling at her co-workers that if they mess up again she will not charge them twice, but x3 the price of the food they messed up on (she repeated it twice and I heard from the dining area).

That’s not all. Another customer comes in and she is bringing an order to the pickup rack. He asks politely what the name of the order is and she responds with an annoyed and fast “I don’t know, check”, and she immediately goes away. The few people in the dining area are in shock. You might think we are overreacting but she really just looked THAT BAD. We heard her send A coworker to get a “sauce” but when he comes back after not finding it, she verbally abused him calling him useless. This last customer tells us that he comes back several times a week and he’s never had such bad service. This was our first and only time we’ll be coming to this location.

I hope this specific location fires “Esperanza” to give her the opportunity to find another job where customer service IS NOT one of the requirements for her position. She REALLY was terrible, not only to the customers, but to her poor (and probably new) coworkers.

NOT TO MENTION THE FOOD. The food was horribly done, none of the ingredients were dispersed evenly and with wrong ingredients. It was clear they were very careless with the food (I suspect Esperanza made our food, as she was the only one attending people dining in and brought our order...

This use to be my favorite location but I want to say the last month and a half to 2 months have really gone down hill. I believe they got a whole new staff because they have messed up my order or forgot half my order a few times. The drive thru from the time I paid to time I got my food was anywhere from 15 mins up to half hour, like tonight 20 mins with just me and someone behind me and 2 customers inside from what I could see. That is also not including the trip back after getting halfway home and realizing half my order was missing. I never had to double check my order here. Its not like I ordered alot I got a box for myself, a new chicken burrito for wife and a steak grill cheese burrito for daughter. Don't get me started on the portions. I remember the steak grill cheese burrito (use to be my favorite too) had a good amount of steak for like $4 or $5 now over $7 and your lucky to get like 7 pieces of steak. Also I ask for fire sauce and with this type of order or larger they have a habit of giving me anywhere from 0 to 5 sauces, before they give me a handful, good thing I kept old extras. And now to the staff the old staff was always friendly and nice this new team just doesn't seem to want to be there. It's really sad what happen here but I won't be returning to this location. I am honestly not a big fan of Taco Bell, and I can definitely tell you how many times I've gone to this fast food restaurant. Recently, I visited it for an unknown reason, and maybe because I did not have a specific restaurant in mind to get lunch at, I went to this one. First of all, it is very clean inside and the atmosphere is very nice. I kind of did not expect that because most of my friends also do not fancy Taco Bell, but seeing how good the restaurant is when it comes to cleanliness, I would most probably start to fancy it. Aside from that, I ordered a taco and some quesadillas, and they were so good that I definitely loved them. That is the main reason why I am thinking of liking the restaurant. It was also quick. I ordered it and it was ready in a span of minutes. The people inside are also super nice and friendly, despite what other people say, that the employees here are rude.
