The brunch at Cozy's was pretty solid. I had the chicken & waffles. The waffle was pulled out a bit too early and was soft... it could have used a couple more minutes to reach a nice golden brown color.

Before ordering the bartender stated, "the chicken in the chicken & waffles is a chicken breast" which was why I ordered it — clearly from the photos, it is not a whole chicken breast, but instead was a boneless piece of chicken, perhaps a tenderloin or maybe some chicken breast meat pulled off of the bone, and it was more like 1/3–1/2 of the size of a chicken breast.

They also forgot to bring out maple syrup with the waffle and it took 10+ minutes to get that, so it was a bit lukewarm by the time I got to eat it.

The pile of onion straws was... a lot... probably 2–3x the amount of onion straws vs the amount of chicken in the dish, which seemed... odd...

I took off one star for the servers giving significantly incorrect information about the food. It would be nice for the servers to be corrected that the chicken in the chicken & waffles is not a chicken breast.

Other than that, the service at the bar was solid and I look forward to trying more of the brunch menu.

For whatever reason, they do not have any prices on the menu for cocktails or brunch cocktails, which is a personal pet peeve, as I've seen many places pull this move to hide the cost of expensive cocktails. There are places where mimosas are $5 and places where they are $15... if the drink prices here are good, they're losing money on checks by not showing people that. The customer should never see the price for the first time on the final bill for any menu item. I took off one star for hiding the cocktail prices.

Cozy's could easily get a higher rating (4–4.5/5) with a few easy improvements, like providing the cocktail prices upfront and ensuring the staff is familiar with the menu.

I will probably go back at some point and try more of the brunch menu. I probably will not order any cocktails here until they show the prices. Please don't make your customers play the...

You get what you pay for & Cozy's definitely gets top marks for quality!

The decor is quaint & eclectic - everywhere you turn there is something surprising to catch your eye. Be sure to look up and check out all the light fixtures, we were sat near the bar & there were old mattress innards posing as chandeliers - it was enchanting.

Our meal started with the charcuterie board & potato soup. The soup was outstanding! Bits of ham & diced potato presented in a wonderfully flavorful light broth with a hint of cream. It was definitely not a typical thick & cloying loaded potato soup heavy on cheese & flour.

The charcuterie board kept our taste buds dancing with wonderful fresh pickles of carrot & baby turnip, tart dark mustard (not apple butter haha!,) sinful bacon jam, perfectly prepared crostini, and wonderful meats & cheeses. The goat cheese gouda was our favorite.

We ordered the house drink of the night which was a wonderful mulled cider - he added bourbon & I opted for apple brandy. We both decided our own drinks were the better option!

For our mains I went with Cozy's carbonara & he decided on the Moo minus the caramelized onions. I also ordered duck fat fries with the duck fat aioli. Delicious!

The burger & fries were anything but standard! Perfectly cooked fries served alongside a perfectly prepared, for him, well done burger scored high marks on the date night scoreboard.

Cozy's carbonara! Oh my!! Every bite was sublime ... an orgasmic explosion of flavors on my palate. The velvety sauce, enhanced by the egg on top, enrobed the peas, lardon, & pasta exceptionally well. And the pasta, bonus points for the bucatini! It was reminiscent of my Sicilian God mother's pasta - outstanding!

Be prepared to dig deep into the coffers to fund this trip to flavor town, but also be ready to reap the rewards! Cozy's starts with exceptional ingredients and turns them into well crafted dishes that score high marks for presentation as well as taste.

We will...

A hidden gem in plain sight! Don’t let what seems to be a humble farmhouse fool you, appearances can be deceiving! The generous parking lot should be a dead giveaway about how big this place is. Inside, each doorway leads to more and more dining areas until the building opens up into something akin to a hybrid German beer hall meets barn, where the bar is tucked into the back of the room. If you’re into bougie brunch, this is the spot for you. On the flip side, if you’re into traditional breakfast, this is also the place for you! The brunch menu has classic breakfast options as well as trendy options and unique/regional dishes. The cocktail menu alone is impressive, but even more so is the fact that they have two pages of brunch specific cocktails. I ordered the Strawberry Short Cake Mimosa, which was my only error, being that it was sickly sweet. I was torn between sweet and savory, ultimately opting for the Goetta Hash, which was delicious! A small warning though: The potato and pepper ‘hash’ component of the dish is deceivingly spicy, almost as if the pepper seeds were left in, and that is not disclosed in the description of the dish. One of my friends got the seasonal quiche, and no exaggeration, I bet it weighed a half pound - it was GIANT. And hearty. On my next brunch visit, I will start with a Poppin Pastry - apparently a sheet pan-sized homemade pop tart - for the table. And sample a less sweet cocktail. I would also love to try their dinner menu; if it’s anywhere near as inviting as brunch, that’s a rare treat! Our group of four had a reservation, which I think was wise, considering the steady stream of traffic I observed over the course of our meal. There is also a separate building where apparently you can host events, like the bridal shower that was...
