Tried this place for the first time last night. First off we called to be sure they were kid friendly which they are until 7 so that was no issue. We arrived right around 5pm, ordered our drinks and our sons meal so it would come out quicker while we looked over the menu. The waitress was less than friendly but so far everything was fine.. however she never returned to take our order for another 20-30 minutes at least, meanwhile others that had arrived after us were waited on at the bar, orders taken, and even food brought out to them. Finally after ordering it was another solid 30-40 minute wait for our meals, well one of them. I waited another 10 minutes or so for mine, no return to check on us, no refills, literally ignored the entire time we were there. I would understand slow service if they were busy but there were only 12 other people in there that were all attended to. I don’t know if you have to be part of the “local crowd” or if it’s because we had kids with us that were well behaved and quiet but definitely felt very unwelcome (don’t advertise as a kid friendly grille if that’s the case). After eating I eventually had to go get the bill from the second (much friendlier) bartender that had started her shift shortly before we were leaving because again ours never bothered returning. I will say the food was excellent and probably the best steak hoagie I’ve had but the lack of service/rudeness really doesn’t make me want to hurry back...
Read moreDon't normally write reviews but I felt one was needed for my recent visit here. Firstly I must say that my bartender Shannon was amazing. Very friendly and fast.
My low rating is due to the drunken owner, Angelo Cicero, that was stumbling around, spilling drinks, and making racist comments while giving me dirty looks. At first I thought he was just another drunk customer until I noticed him going behind the bar and pouring more shots for himself all while complaining that he was glad he didn't vote for Obama because apparently he was the reason his internet wasn't working? Shortly after, I noticed him throwing angry glares at me and whispering to his friend after seeing me hold my wife's hand (guess he didn't approve of us being an interracial couple). As I sat with my wife and friends trying to make the most out of the night I occasionally heard more derogatory comments from him and noticed more glances which eventually got so bad that the bartender had to turn the music up to cover up what he was saying. Can't say that I felt too comfortable at this place and definitely won't be going back. Guess it's true what they say about alcohol bringing out a person's true...
Read moreWhen you literally live less than 5 minutes from the restaurant, I’m very hesitant to try anything that close. But this is probably one of the friendliest and tastiest local bars I have been to in years.
Very open and well lit atmosphere, love the the design of the bar. It’s centerly located and there is no short of TVs in the place. They do have a stage, probably for live music which is really cool this close to home.
Music lovers can spend $1 for up to 3 songs on their little radio by the kitchen door. The owner I imagine runs the place with his wife, very friendly and kind.
I had the All-American Burger with fries and their classic Italian Pasta salad. Burger was a little over done, tasty and reminded me of when I was a kid again - good memories. The pasta salad was very evidently cooked same time I ordered it so it was fresh and could have done with being a little more chill - but yummy.
Scratch all that, I actually got sick tonight in less than 8 hours after eating here - food poisoning. I DO...
