Greek Express — Restaurant in Liberty Township

We ate here for the first time a week ago after visiting the zoo. I loved it because my 6 year old really liked his gyro and fries and my chicken salad was very fresh and the vinaigrette dressing was really tasty. Fast forward one week and we’re back after visiting the zoo with more people and we head over to Greek Express on recommendation of my son. We walk in and order and the cashier was pretty rude to my daughter. But come to find out, she’s not normally upfront. Then we don’t get our food quickly at all. I walk up front after about 15 minutes of waiting and another person asks me if I’ve been helped. I tell them I have, but somehow they lost my order. Ugh! Baby is crying and we are exhausted, I just want my food, but they apologized and refunded our meal and went out of their way to make it right. They could have just refunded the meal or gave me a voucher like a chain restaurant, but they are a local business and they are doing right by their customers. I will definitely be going back. My husband and I have been coming to this location of Greek Express for years. The food is consistently amazing, the staff has always been wonderful and friendly, and it is always a peaceful dining experience. Tonight, we arrived around or just after 8:30pm and ordered our dinner. Presumably the manager working was very friendly as he took our order. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal and left feeling full! However, I am writing this review because unfortunately, a female staff member approached us as we were finishing our meal and let us know that the store was closing "in two minutes" and my husband and I felt rushed. The closing time on Google as well as on the door show that the store closes at 9:30pm. We were nearly done with our meal and truly would have left on our own in just a few more minutes, but unfortunately we left feeling unhappy with how this employee spoke to us. She clearly was at the end of her shift and ready to leave. We would have taken our food home had we known that the store closes at 9pm.

My first visit there was not satisfactory. The girl I encountered was not very pleasant. I ordered a gyro and asked if they could add hummus. They said, yea it will be 50 cents extra. No problem. That's literally all I said, can you add hummus. I get home, 15 mins away, longer in rush hour, and what's on my gyro? Hummus..ONLY. no lettuce, tomatoes, onion, the delicious sauce. Nothing, but meat and Hummus. Really??? I called and spoke with the manager, he was definitely more pleasant than the girl from earlier and he offered me a free supreme gyro the next time I stop in. THANK YOU. but I rolled my eyes when he said, maybe there was some confusion. I didn't say anything, but that's bull unless the girls there are incompetent. I didn't say anything take it confusing.
