I gotta laugh at the negative reviews from spoiled suburbia. This fine little establishment is the quintessential counterargument to anyone who thinks immigrants are lazy slobs who milk the system. What do we have here? A sweet peaceful little Chinese family laboring HARD over hot stoves all day, earning every penny they make. You will not get more for your money anywhere in the tri-state area. I know because I've lived all over it. The food tastes awesome and they give you so much that it practically seeps out of the containers they put it in for take-out. But here's a little story to make you understand that these are simply real good people. About 3 months ago, I was in there and my memory stick fell out of my pocket unbeknownst to me. That stick had a lot of important files. I went the whole week searching everywhere and pulling my hair out worrying. Finally, last ditch effort, I retraced that day's footsteps and remembered going in there. So I took a shot and went in with another identical-looking one to show, since I knew their English is not burning up the TOEIC. BANG. Had it and handed it right to me from behind the counter. They gained a lifetime customer in that moment. So when they're a little short on the PR after a long hard day of standing over that stove sweating, I take a step back and give them a break. Bottom line, good food, good prices, good people. Check em out. Beijing Chinese Restaurant. Best in Columbus...and Ohio and Pennsylvania and West...
Read moreAfter reading all the reviews of Chinese Restaurants in the Powell area I decided to try Beijing for lunch today. I took home Chicken Lo Mein and Mongolian Beef. Both dishes were delicious, not too salty and good sized portions. I will definitely go back. Give it a try- I am glad I did.
Update July 2019 The last three times I have eaten here the food quality has taken a steep nose-dive. All my favorite dishes seemed bland. The meat seems very tough. I called and told the woman "manager" that their food quality is slipping. I didn't ask for anything but I wanted them to know. Tonight's order will be my last order as it was disgusting. The Chicken in the Lo Mein was hard and chewy. The Bourbon Chicken looks like a mystery meat. It tasted like pork but they don't have a Bourbon Pork dish on the menu so we can only assume what I was served was very old and over-prepared chicken. Like another reviewer mentioned it also tasted like they're cooking in very old oil. See attached pictures. This is such a shame. I really enjoyed this restaurant but my guess is their business is slow and their food is no longer fresh. I am downgrading my review to 1 star and will find another place as three strikes...
Read moreI really like their food. Been eating here for years, but customer service lacks much! I've watched the little boy grow up and he is always kind, but the mother is not nice at all and extremely cheap. I called in an order at 11:30 and asked for a lunch combo. When I got there, they had prepared a regular combo which is several dollars more per combo. First of all, most people that call in at lunch time want a LUNCH combo. Secondly, when I told her I wanted the lunch combo, she started to literally take the food back out of the bag and to give me a smaller portion because she said it was more food. First of all, I had already paid and didn't want to wait for her to do all of that. Secondly, who actually takes back food? What are you going to do with it? I certainly hope not give it to someone else? Previously, she tried to charge me $.75 for a container of red sauce. ??? I probably will still eat here from time to time because the food is pretty good, but I just don't care for their customer service and don't care to patronize places that don't appreciate their customers, especially...
