The staff were very nice and welcoming. We took our food, went to a friend to eat but we didn’t finish the sandwich or the platter. this is what is left of the prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich with Jimmys hot peppers. The menu says “subs”, but the bread was SUPER THICK sliced bread instead of a sub. I didn’t unwrap it before i left the store or i wouldn’t have left with the sandwich. I accepted the sandwich anyway even though it was sliced bread but not a sub because whats the big deal i was thinking it was filled with meat n cheese like an Italian sandwich should be.
Unfortunately there were two thin slices of prosciutto and four small dollops of mozzarella. Light green peppers which had no flavor and definitely weren’t spicy, AND Mexican jalapeños ( since when is that considered part of an Italian specialty?). I ate the two slices of prosciutto and four small dollops of cheese. The bread is for FRENCH TOAST not an ITALIAN sandwich- very insulting to the little bit of meat n cheese that was slapped between the bread. I also ordered a chicken parm with cavatell plate which ended up not being eaten as well nor did i save it... The cavatell was extremely OVER COOKED and the cutlet was OVER FRIED. Waste of money and we didn’t have time to bring it back, shame on me. We also had a turkey sub, the sub was very light not dense like a nice sub should be.. (I suggest going to semolina). The deli is very nice looking and clean but there is not an overwhelming aroma of fresh food that one would experience in an Italian deli/ specialty store. Not sure the reason for that. Anyway be very observant and definitely scrutinize what you’re getting. Make sure to ASK about the products that you’re ordering. I gave the stars for the staff, couldn’t do it for the food. Although the folks in the area really enjoy the food based on the reviews. Good for Jimmy’s if it...
Read moreI ordered a cake and deli tray for my husband's 40th birthday on October 9th. When I spoke to the bakery, I explained the birthday surprise I had planned for my husband using another local business to have flamingos and birthday flags covering our front yard. There was a bit of a snafu with the original type of cake ordered no longer being available and a miswriting of my phone number so Jimmy's wasn't able to call me to let me know. Thankfully I'd called them before I left and they were not only able to still fulfill the cake order that same day, but also in time for our Covid socially distanced, family only birthday celebration for him AND they still decorated it in the flamingo theme we originally talked about!!! I was so impressed by that and so thankful that they were still able to fill that order. Also, the meat and cheese tray was HUGE!!! This was my first time ordering a tray from the deli (although I've eaten from their deli before) and I was so impressed with the selection and presentation for the price charged. We ended up sharing leftovers with our neighbors and now they are planning to visit Jimmy's. Thank you so much for helping make my husband's 40th birthday during Covid one...
Read moreI've been here before but this review is just for the owners....a critique of your website. Most of your photos are of either the inside or cakes. While it is nice to see pastries and a cake or two, I can get a cake made in hundreds of places closer to me than your store. What I want to see is your selections of olive oils and balsamic vinegars and cappuccino coffee beans, olives, pastas, breads, meats, cheeses, and other Italian items imported from Italy or pertaining to Italian cooking. Showing me photo after photo of cakes makes me not want to bother taking the drive to your store. Some people are serious about finding high quality products as I listed above. Show us what you carry....and if you don't carry them, then start. There's no use driving to an Italian specialty store if there's nothing more special there than what I can find at the local grocery store. I want to find a genuine piece of Italy. I want to find the real, rare...
