I sometimes get a craving for food from my youth. Today, I wanted some original recipe fried chicken from KFC. I stopped at the restaurant on Hamilton Middletown Road (Rt.4) I Liberty Twp today and pulled through the drivethru line. I only wanted chicken, none of the sides, so I inquired the cost of chicken only. I was given a price of $2.18 for a breast and a wing of Original Recipe. I said that I would take the chicken, that's all, thanks and was then given a total of $2.38. I stopped and asked, why the different price? "Oh tax," was the response. I hesitated only a moment before stating that carryout FOOD is not taxable in Ohio. Instead of apologizing or saying, let me check on that, the person wanted to argue about it. So I pulled off.
I called the restaurant on my way home because this is a problem that more than one restaurant seems to have, and I'm kind of tired of it. Food is expensive enough without someone tacking on an erroneous sales tax. The manager with whom I spoke also wanted to argue. She did not lead with, I'm sorry this has happened. She legit blamed corporate and directed me to call them. Instead, I think I will report tax fraud to the state, as this could be a serious situation. Is this restaurant collecting tax but not submitting it to the state? Who might be profiting from this little mistake? It may seem small at 19 cents for me, but multiply that or whatever erroneous amount being charged by however many customers per day, and, well, you get the picture. This could be thousands of dollars, and who knows if it is going to the state or into someone's pocket?
Does anyone else have this happen? Or doesn't anyone else pay attention? I have this happen a lot regarding beverages through the drivethru. Iced tea is nontaxable, but various restaurants try to tax it all the time. What in the world was KFC trying...

Read morezero out of three orders were correct which I didn't discover until reaching the house. I tried the phone them and no one answered. I drive up there. can't go inside because only the drive-thru is open. there's literally only been one car ahead of me each time I asked to speak to the manager. tell him what I ordered. show him the pictures of what I ordered. he gives me a box. I drive off and I stop before you even get out of the parking lot. and I'll be damned if it wasn't incorrect again. seriously guys avoid this place at all costs. I understand why now this location rarely has cars in the parking lot or drive-thru. I only gave it one star because negative stars...
