Nestled in the heart of town, Whit's Frozen Custard was a haven for dessert enthusiasts seeking a taste of perfection. Connor, a skilled artisan with an unwavering passion for crafting frozen delights, took pride in his role as the maestro of flavor.
One fateful summer evening, I found myself drawn to the alluring aroma wafting from Whit's. Intrigued, I stepped inside and was greeted by Connor's warm smile. Little did I know that this encounter would lead to a transcendent banana split experience.
Connor, the unsung hero behind the counter, orchestrated a symphony of flavors with finesse. As I marveled at the pristine cleanliness of the establishment, Connor embarked on his culinary journey to create the world's best banana split.
He began by carefully selecting ripe bananas, skillfully slicing them to ensure the perfect balance of sweetness. The foundation laid, he moved on to Whit's signature frozen custard â a velvety masterpiece that embraced my taste buds in a blissful dance of creaminess.
What set Connor apart was his meticulous attention to detail. Each scoop of custard was placed with precision, forming a harmonious medley of vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. The chocolate sauce, a decadent drizzle, adorned the custard like liquid silk, while the strawberries, fresh and succulent, added a burst of natural sweetness.
The pièce de rĂŠsistance was the crown of whipped cream, generously dolloped atop the creation. Sprinkled with finely chopped nuts and crowned with a maraschino cherry, it was a sight to behold â a banana split fit for royalty.
Connor's dedication to his craft extended beyond the visual appeal. With a knowing nod, he handed over the masterpiece, inviting me to savor the symphony of flavors. Each spoonful was a revelation, an exquisite blend of textures and tastes that transported me to dessert nirvana.
The ambiance at Whit's Frozen Custard, paired with Connor's unparalleled skill, elevated the banana split experience to a level of indulgence I had never imagined. It wasn't merely dessert; it was a five-star performance, a culinary masterpiece deserving of accolades.
As I left Whit's that evening, I couldn't help but reflect on the magic that Connor had conjured with a simple banana split. His commitment to perfection had created a dessert experience that transcended the ordinary, leaving an indelible mark on my taste buds and earning Whit's Frozen Custard a well-deserved spot among the elite in the world of frozen delights. Connor, you are truly the custodian of flavor, and your banana split is nothing short of a symphony for the senses. Five stars,...
Read moreFirstly, I do like Whit's and I like their ice cream. I'm writing this review, however, for the worst service experience I've ever encountered at an ice cream shop. On a warm Saturday evening my wife and I took our two girls to Whit's at 8:25pm with Whit's closing at 9pm. We waited in-line until 8:57pm and when we finally went to order they told us they had no vanilla nor chocolate ice cream and since they closed in 3 minutes they wouldn't make any more. I told my daughter we couldn't have any ice cream and she cried since she'd waited all day as reward for being good.
The people working at Whit's in Powell allowed us to stand in-line for over 20 minutes with two little kids and not once said they were out of ice cream. Then as my girl cries in front of them they didn't offer to make more or show any form of compassion or kindness. Cold as the ice cream itself or lack thereof. I suppose they just didn't care. I then found DQs nearby had closed at 9pm. Had Whit's told us they ran out of ice cream at any time they allowed us to wait in-line for over 20 minutes then we could have gone to DQs and had ice cream. What a horrible experience at...
Read moreGreat price and delicious custard. We've always loved Whits and this Powell location but tonight we had a bad service experience for the first time. We came in during the last half hour of business and could tell that the employee working behind the register was annoyed with our arrival, assuming because we came in so close to close. After getting our custard, we sat on the benches outside the establishment and chatted with friends until another employee rudely shooed us away stating "you guys have 2 minutes because we have to pull the benches inside". Certainly the young lady could have communicated this in a more friendly way instead of curtly telling us to leave. Again, great custard and usually friendly service but it was clear tonight that the employees were ready to be off work (we've all had...
