We are frequent patrons of The Landing. It has always been one of our favorite places to eat and take our out of town friends. I made a “reservation” for the Santa’s Landing pop-up bar and had invited friends from out of town, to join us. I had a phone call confirmation from the restaurant the day of. When we arrived, we were surprised there was a “Toys for Tots” charity event , which required us to pay $15 each. The money was being donated to a good cause, yes, but why am I blindsided with an additional $75 that could have been told to me prior. Mind you, the pop up bar is outside on the patio, while the event with live music is going on inside the crammed packed restaurant. When we tried to check in, no one knew what we were talking about. They had to ask a manager if we had to pay to get in, which we did. The hostesses were clueless to anything going on and The door guy, was very rude and aggressive towards people, while he was trying to direct everyone where to go. This place was a HOT MESS, to put it nicely. Then we had to find our own way through the madness to the pop up bar. Why do they have you make a reservation? I have no clue. There were just a few tables with 2 “bartenders” with a jammed pack tent. Thankfully they did have a table for us. By the end of the first hour we had first cocktail and had not even been asked about food. The bar within the pop-up was serving other patrons and giving service to everyone first , except the guests with “reservations”. The holiday cocktails overpriced and was probably the worst I have ever had tasted. I honestly think they made me a tequila drink instead of vodka. I don’t even think the ladies were really bartenders, as I seen one having to taste talked multiple ingredients, just to verify what it was. After 1 hour and 45 minutes later we had food. Thankfully the food was good and the the 1 younger female bartender made the night somewhat salvageable. This was probably my worst experience there and makes me question if I ever...
Read moreI have been there many times under different management and things were okay... not always the best service, as they tend to cater to recognizable regulars.... but today was BAD. We had a group and someone had a Yeti with filtered water (an elderly man). They said he couldn't bring it in. Then they brought my 1 year old a water with a straw that had red sugary, crusted stuff on it. So, I asked for a new one. The waitress said it was grenadine and wiped it off and gave it back. Unsure how or why that happened. It was a plain water and for her to act like having grenadine on a kids straw was normal, was very concerning. The fact that she wiped it off and handed it back is beyond me. Then someone ordered wings and they said they could only do one sauce. So the waitress said to order them naked and order sauces on the side. The wings came out naked and looked absolutely awful. Should've just allowed the sauces. THEN we asked for the US Open and the bartender turned on a football game. THEN the Chiefs game was playing obnoxiously loud over the speakers, but the Chiefs game wasn't even on a TV. It was all just a lot and most of it was uncalled for. We politely asked them to turned the Chiefs game down so we could hear one another and so they turned on music instead. It was 3pm in the afternoon. The whole situation was bizarre and we will never be back. Too many options in town to have...
Read moreMy friend and I had lunch at the Liberty location on Friday, April 11th. We waited for 45 minutes for our food. Server told us there was a large party ahead of us and a 190.00 to go order ahead of us. This made us feel like our order and we was insignificant. I ordered the Western Burger well done. It was extremely dry and lacked flavor. Maybe some more BBQ sauce and pickles might have helped a bit. I've had well done burgers at other places that were juicy so that shouldn't be an excuse. My friend ordered the Salmon and was told a loaded baked potato came with it. The potato was not cooked all the way through so was hard in the middle and cold, When she received her check, there was a charge for the "loaded". She was never told about an extra charge just that it came that way. We have been there several times to watch games and listen to music but, only second time for lunch. We did not say anything to our server because we had been there a long time and was hungry. Just wanted to eat and get out. She did comp us our iced tea. She said because "you had to ask for refills because you waited so long for your meals". We were very disappointed in this experience. This experience will definitely be a factor when deciding where to go in the future. I sent this statement to them on their website and never received...
