I went to the establishment at the recommendation of church members. Upon arrival I observed the waitresses all on their cell phones texting. I looked at the hall were the food is wrapped and the staff was also conversing , joking having a good time. I spoke with cashier 28 and placed an order for a dish called El gordo which is a sample of several dishes in one. I asked that it was made all chicken. I even gave a 5 dollar tip for a 17 dollar bill. To my dismay when I opened the bag at home the whole order was beef. I called the place and spoke with the manager Luis who blamed the cooks for the mistake. I live on a tight budget and eat out once every two weeks. Its very unfortunate that Luis did not offer to remake the order for me and make it right. I really liked the chips and salsa. The rest went in the trash. Perhaps if they have one of the waiters get off the phone and check the orders against the tickets Things might be better. They need at least one staff member who cares about the customers. Well I’ll tell the congregation on Wednesday about...
Read morePre 2020, this used to be one of my regular haunts. Things have changed. The atmosphere inside used to be fun, but they have remodeled to a much more boring interior. Then came the queso dip. Shrinkflation has definitely hit hard. It was so thin it shouldn't be called a dip or even a soup. Perhaps it was meant to be a cheese broth? The chips were also a bit tough and stale. When my chili rellano came, it was very little cheese and a truly massive amount of egg batter. I am skeptical of restaurants where the waiter is not the cashier. It makes me suspect that any tip left will not go to the waiter, although I have no direct knowledge of this--just a hunch. The final thing that irked me is that they charge a higher price for using credit cards which more than negates any sort of cash back bonuses you might get for using one. I feel like we as consumers need to push back on this sort of behavior. In short, there are Mexican restaurants in the area with better food for the same price, and I will be visiting them from now on....
Read moreI went here with my fiance and my son and I've been here before. It was average and seemed overrated first time I went. I went with my fiance this time because we live in liberty. The refried beans tasted like ** the chicken fajitas were good tho but food was overpriced especially for what you get. Guacamole was expensive when you can get it for 5 dollars at El maguey in gladstone which you can also get entres for 13 dollars there and more for what you pay for. The booth was uncomfortable and not really meant for big people or tall people and cramped. The high chair for our son had wheels which was very irritating and there's barely any space and was scary to see a dude coming through with a sizzling hot pan near our son especially because our son kept pushing the table to move himself because high chair had wheels. I know this place is not an authentic Mexican restaurant and it's just tex Mex and if it was why don't they have Mexican people working there only with staff. Won't be going here again and my fiance...
