Rude. ALL the staff act like you are an inconvenience. Every cat we were interested in was either a resident or bonded… needless to say I was not going to pay close to $400 for adoption fees (2 cats + admission and that’s just assuming they don’t have any other hidden fees when you decide to adopt). I totally understand some are residents and bonded, but at least if one is bonded (meaning you MUST adopt TWO cats bc you must also adopt the bonded mate as well) you would think they would reduce one of the fees for one of the cats- at least so the bonded pair have an equal chance of adoption. Myself and another family passed up on two different cats bc they were bonded not because we weren’t willing to adopt two, but because we weren’t willing to pay double the fees just bc they decided the cats are bonded. The cats could have been adopted by families and into homes much sooner- therefore lowering or at least SLOWING down their adoption. at thar price you could buy a full bred kitten… However, prices and availability of the cats in the lounge is trivial compared to the rudeness of the staff, crowded lounge, and smell. If you must go, I recommend having a staff member point out the cats that are available through the window before wasting your money to go into the lounge and definitely don’t pay to bring your whole family… not only is it expensive, but all of the kids running around make it impossible for those who are serious about adopting. We went to Petco right after leaving sugar kittens and the staff was so nice and we could tell they truly care about their cats being adopted. We also got to hold (while sitting) and spend time with each cat Petco had for adoption in a secluded area for FREE and the adoption fee we paid was $50. I highly recommend Petco over Petsmart bc Petco staff can handle ALL adoptions during regular hours - whereas Petsmart requires an appt or you to walk in on weekends. They get new cats daily from pet project as well. As for sugar kittens, it’s a great concept but the rude staff, crowding, over pricing and limited availability made both of our experiences crappy…. Even after giving them a second chance. Won’t return.
Also- take note of all the “likes” on the negative reviews… presumably people who had similar experiences but didn’t take the time to write a review. I didn’t write one after our first visit, but after the second visit and reading other reviews I decided to share our experience. It’s unfortunate because this place has the potential to be as awesome as it sounds by simply being polite and acting like WANT the cats to be adopted…but instead, it felt like we were inconveniencing some rude...
Read moreUPDATE: Owner replied lol. So 1) I did not advertise that on your page. I was simply telling my cousin I was probably going to go that route and then you wanted to reply to my comment saying that it’s not gonna be the kind of cat that you would have. Quit trying to cover your tracks because at the end of the day you said what you said. I Simply stated I was most likely going to get it from a friend never advertised it or anything like that. 2) I did not know about my friend sending you all a message so i apologize. 3) This review Was simply needed because you wanted to try and tell me that my cats were not gonna have the proper care that yours did. Matter fact, my friend is giving a cat that has all of their shots and everything for FREE. I thank you for your concern, but my review still stands. Thanks. I decided I wanted to get a cat so my cousin had decided to tag me in one of their posts on Facebook. I asked her how much due to me and my Fiance being on a budget, and not only would we have to get a cat but also everything the cat needs. Well, a former coworker of ours decided he was going to give us one of of his cats for for a cheaper price. Mind you, we know who he is, worked with him, etc. He even said the cats were spayed and neutered, And had everything necessary to get done for a cat. Well apparently that pissed off whoever was commenting because they got mad and said “the vet bills will be more expensive if you get it with a “cheaper” guy, and it won’t be spayed/neutered and have the things it needs; Therefore, you’ll spend a lot more money at the vet.” When I told him they actually did have all of those qualifications and I knew the person I was getting them from, they got pissed off and blocked me😂. You all Are not the only places to get cats but also, I’m not going to pay $130-150 for a cat Then have to get what they need when I can spend $100 altogether probably just for the cat and their needs. Don’t get mad all because I decided I wanted to go a cheaper route and with someone I know. I will not be recommending anyone to this...
Read moreIve never thought to have left a review for this place until their recent location change to across the street not too long ago. They were closed for a month or so and missed their unique drink creations so much. I wouldve left a 5* with their old liberty location. We moved to liberty close to 2 years ago and found this location shortly after when driving home. My GF was the one who booked time slots with the cats but we did both come in quite regularly for the snacks and their handmade drinks.
Ok, now for their new location across the road 0.1 miles away. When we noticed that they reopened, my gf booked a time spot for the new play time, it was that weekend. During the weekday before then I wanted to stop by for their wacky yummy drink creations since it’s been so long. Yet the owner said they’ll no longer be offering such anymore. Pointed at their bottled drinks fridge and said go next door for the boba place… yea if i wanted boba type drinks then i would’ve went to one. Boba places basically all offer nearly the same things imo and isn’t too appealing as what Sugar Kittens Cat offered in the past. We don’t drive out of the way for a boba place, only when it’s nearby. I called their second location and seems like they’ve never had drinks to begin with according to the employee otp. Drinks were exclusive to liberty. If their other location had drinks tho we would take the 40 minute trip for it, it would be worth it.
Notice how I didn’t call it a “Cafe” when I mentioned Sugar Kittens Cat earlier? Because it no long fits their model. The cafe part of the business died with their old location. It’s just a play area with cats that sells bottled gag drinks, and cat gag gifts. They still sell some snacks but it’s nothing that you cant get from elsewhere. Nothing special from this point on that makes us want to come back.
I have a ton of photos of their drinks/drink menus but heres what I found after 5 minutes scrolling through my camera roll. KEEP IN MIND THAT THEY NO...
