We were visiting from North Carolina for our son’s Navy graduation. We had the pleasure of eating at Egg harbor twice during our stay and then disappointment on the 3rd day dining. I must recognize service, wait time and food were excellent the first day, prompting us to make this our “breakfast place” for the long weekend with our son. We took our son on Saturday, and same great experience. A little pricey but worth it to have a quality breakfast When out of town. On Sunday our last day with our son we decided to use the Door Dash option. (My first door dash experience, I will write that review as well) After a confirmation text for my order I was quoted a 20-30 minute wait. After 40 minutes the Dasher (very friendly!) text me to say that Egg Harbor did not receive my order. He informed me he couldn’t wait much longer but would give it a few more minutes (understandable). I called to confirm and asked if there was any way to help with the price due to the inconvenience and his extreme wait. My attempt was so I could give the Dasher a very nice tip for his time. (His all in wait time was an hour) The manager simply told me it wasn’t their fault and to contact Door Dash. She lacked understanding and was unapologetic. She couldn’t be bothered with trying to help. She told me to contact Door Dash. Even if it was their fault let’s not play the blame game be understanding of the customer. I wasn’t asking for much. The total was $47. Of course the blame game worked because Door Dash said it wasn’t on their end and did not help much but at least they gave me a $5 coupon. More than I can say for the VERY unfriendly manager at Egg Harbor. Unfortunately, it made for a bad experience when simply owning it (even if it wasn’t the fault of the restaurant) would have made for ExCEPTIONAL service. I am assured it wasn’t my fault or the dashers fault but we were the only ones out time and money because the 2 businesses involved didn’t want to be understanding that regardless of fault the situation was negative. Oh well, I tipped the dasher extra because it was the right thing to do, even though “it wasn’t my fault.” Kindness and understanding. Sometimes that’s just...

We have been going to the egg harbors in Libertyville, Lincolnshire and Lake Geneva for years. We dine there at least once a week and when the westher is warm twice a week. We supported the one in Libertyville during the covid times ordering our food and going to pick it up. We have always enjoyed bringing our two small dogs that we keep in a stroller when we dine on their patio. We brought our two dogs with last week but this morning when we arrived to eat there they told us we are no longer welcome with our dogs. A new corporate policy says no more dogs. So after years of supporting this business thus is how they treat us. I know there was many times every table on there patio was filled with people and their dog or dogs. People are just starting to come out after covid and they start turning loyal customers away doesn’t make sense to me. So now we will give our money to restaurants like fried Egg and Buttermilk and Lazy Dog and O Tools all places that allow your pets. So goodbye to Egg Harbor after probably close to 23 years. I think corporate might regret...

Quality check curb side pickup. Visit on 7-26-2020, ordered ahead for curbside pickup. Called when we got there to let them know we had arrived. Waited 15 min past allotted time, had to go in to get food which was cold. We Parked at near by park to eat. They forgot utensils and my chicken sausage, and my wife's English muffin. So basically for $12.50 I got 2 cold French toast and cold scrambled eggs, and no good way to eat it. Also included a $5 tip and for what! Yes Covid19 has caused issues in the restaurant business I get it. Please do a quality check. Props to McDonald's for giving us utensils to eat our $33 meal. :/ avoid take out. / UPDATE 07-28-2020 Egg Harbor Management responded to our feedback and credited us for this not so good experience. It's good to see they do care about the customers and for that we will go back because they do have good food! 3 Stars was 2. Lesson Learned, with any take out, check the bag yourself before you...

Hello everyone! Thank you very much for reading my reviews! Our family loves traditional Sunday breakfasts! This cafe was recommended to us by friends. There are always a lot of guests here and this is a good indicator. We liked it, there are no frills here, it is ordinary home-cooked food, but of good quality. The coffee is good and this is a great miracle for Illinois. My advice: 1) be sure to make a table reservation online and come at the exact time, 2)read the menu online in advance and read reviews, 3) if you have small children - use the children's menu, 4) the portions are large and if you are on a diet, you can split a portion for two, 5) payment can be made by QR code, 6) you can come with babies, 7) if you do not find a free parking space, then use the free three-story parking opposite, 8) after a delicious breakfast, it is always great to walk in a small park in the center of Libertyville, it is a three-minute walk away.

This is an awesome breakfast and lunch cafe! The service is amazing too! Everyone is friendly and it seems like it is a happy place to work with a great vibe! The drinks, food, and service are outstanding! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu - one of my favorites is the Barrington Benedict which is the traditional eggs Benedict with hollandaise sauce. Cooked to perfection - golden toasted English muffin, grilled Canadian bacon, perfectly cooked poached eggs with a generous amount of sauce served pipping hot! My husband had Greg’s chili and eggs and enjoyed it. The ingredients are so fresh and made to order. Both entrees came with a side of harbor potatoes that were cooked just right! The menu offers a huge variety of options. There’s something for everyone so check them out! The lunch menu has salads, sandwiches, and soups that are very good as well. This cafe rocks! The food and service will leave you smiling! Yum!
