Karen at the Boardroom: A Star in Libertyville

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Boardroom in Libertyville, Illinois, and I can't say enough about my amazing server, Karen. From the moment she greeted me, I knew I was in for a special experience. Karen was warm, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu and the restaurant's offerings. She took the time to answer my questions and make recommendations, and she was always attentive to my needs without being intrusive.

Above and Beyond

One thing that really impressed me about Karen was her attention to detail. She noticed that I was celebrating a special occasion and went out of her way to make it extra special. She brought me a complimentary dessert with a candle, and she even took a picture of me and my friends to commemorate the evening. These little touches made me feel like a valued guest, and they truly enhanced my dining experience.

Professional and Personable

But it wasn't just Karen's attentiveness that made her stand out. She was also incredibly professional and efficient. She managed her tables flawlessly, and she always seemed to be one step ahead of my needs. She was able to answer all of my questions about the menu, and she made sure that my food and drinks were always delivered promptly and correctly.

A Boardroom Gem

I left the Boardroom feeling like I had made a new friend in Karen. She is a true asset to the restaurant, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great dining experience in Libertyville. In fact, I would go back to the Boardroom just to see...

We stumbled upon this restaurant last night having had the intention on visiting another. What a gem this is. Upscale with nice ambiance. Noise level was decent as the restaurant was created in sections for lounging, bar area and dining. The service was great with staff attentive and knowledge. Our drinks where fantastic. We ordered a Manhattan as well as the rye old fashioned which was smoked table side. 😋 Our small charcuterie board was not so small which was a pleasant surprise. The board was ample with lots of variety. One of the better ones we've had of late. For dinner we ordered the steak to share as well as the scallops. The steak had a nice seat in it and was tender. Being layered over the mash served with broccoli. The fish had an interesting layer of flavors which we thoroughly enjoyed. Scallops where served over a bed of Israeli couscous drizzled with a mild curry sauce. Delightful flavor. Disappointing sear. It's so hard to get scallops just right and although they where perfectly cooked on the inside I missed the crust. They also lacked salt. I know I'm totally knit picking here, but at a wopping $30 for 3 scallops, in my opinion, they needed to be perfect. I'm giving the boardroom 4 stars because we thought the prices where inflated. Over all we liked it and recommend visiting. We hope to be back to try a couple more dishes on the menu which...

My Charcuterie at The Board Room was absolutely an amazing experience hands down! Growing up in restaurants, you have a certain appreciation for good food. I was firstly impressed by the quaint, yet chic/cozy vibe The Board Room gives off. The charcuterie class was so personal, taught by the owner Liz, herself. You get to listen to a wonderful story of her beginnings, coupled with being led through creating your own charcuterie board. You’re provided with a box filled with quality cheeses/crackers/nuts/dried fruits/pestos/jams/vinaigrettes and OFCOURSE chocolate. While creating your board, you can nab a bottle of wine and order some of their delicious tapas style plates with your group. I only had the opportunity of trying the sliders, charred veg, and Korean beef crispy tacos. I was really beside myself at how flavorful the food was. When you’re a true foodie, it’s that flavor that touches your heart and 110% has the “aphrodisiac” effect. Food, that, you just feel happy after you have it. It is really such a personalized experience that you won’t find anywhere else! So- if you are not only looking for THE experience and THE ambiance, but also to be inspired; this is the charcuterie class for you, friends, and family for an experience you will never forget! I can’t wait to come back to The Board Room just to have dinner!...

My friends and I visited The Board Room on a Sunday night to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The place had beautiful décor, and although soft background music played, the overall noise level was quite high due to a large party in a private room. Our server, Lexi, was amazing but the service felt a bit slow—from taking our orders to receiving our food and drinks. I think it’s because she’s the only server serving the big party and other tables in the restaurant. We love her nevertheless. We tried the Fall Martini Tower, with our favorites being the Apple Butter Old-Fashioned and the Espresso Martini. We ordered a variety of dishes: • Firecracker Shrimp – A hit with everyone! • Korean Beef Crispy Taco • Teriyaki Beef Bao Buns • Pan-Seared Scallops with Couscous • Fettuccine Your Way with Pesto Sauce – Unfortunately, the pesto lacked flavor. Also, the couscous and pilaf were overly salty. We ended with a flourless chocolate cake and complimentary vanilla ice cream, which was a delightful touch. The server even sang for our friend’s birthday, adding to the fun atmosphere. Overall Experience Despite some inconsistencies with the food, the evening was fun, and we enjoyed the ambiance and service. A good spot for a celebration, though the noise level could be a bit much at times.
