The Picnic Basket Restaurant & Gourmet Food Works Catering — Restaurant in Libertyville

We used Picnic Basket/ Gourmet Food works for our wedding last month at the Byron Colby Barn. We worked with Ivan and he did SO much more than just help us plan our menu. He was very familiar with our venue and helped with alot of the planning for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. He really made the whole process a breeze! We had some menu ideas when we arrived for the tasting, months before our wedding, but Ivan brought out samples of SO much food and we ended up picking something completely different. As the bride, I have food allergies (allergic to gluten and dairy) and Ivan was SO accommodating with all the menu choices. Alot of our guests were also GF and he made sure our buffet was all clearly marked with tons of options for everyone. We also had two vegan guests, which had their meals prepared on the side, and they raved about their dish! The day of the wedding, Ivan and his staff were very prompt, professional and smiling all night! At the end of the dinner, the food was packed up for us to take home! We also had The Picnic Basket cater our wedding and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Ivan was unstoppable and worked with me every step of the way. He was incredibly organized, thought of things I missed, worked with my best friend whose yard hosted the wedding, was incredibly communicative and had a top notch team working the day of. I grew up in Libertyville and spent many of my senior lunch breaks in High School at Picnic basket. I was beyond elated to have Mo running the show on our big day. Such a kind hearted, thoughtful, hard working man. He was always checking in on me during the reception and he even took pictures. At one point the owner showed up to check in and the other owner called to check in as well. What an amazing team, for an amazing place. We cannot thank you enough. The Picnic Basket were amazing helping me plan my wedding & providing excellent food! We had our wedding at the Byron Colby Barn and we were from out of town so we just looked online for places. We went to one tasting at the Picnic Basket and knew they were who we wanted. The food at the tasting was the exact same food they provided at the wedding! It was amazing and all the guests couldn't stop talking about how delicious it all was! But besides providing the best food, Ivan who I was in contact with helped me with other things like our seating arrangements, who to contact for other services that we needed and responded quickly to all of our emails and questions! It was extremely affordable and the day of our wedding the staff was great! I can't compliment them enough!
