What can I say🤔 I ordered a broccoli & cheddar omelette and it was cold from the 1st bite. The broccoli was barely cooked, it was bland blah blah boring, the hash browns were cold and dry. This was my second time there, I don't think it's all the rave like all these 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ reviews are but maybe they have lower expectations then I do but when you pay $32.. for breakfast for 2 you'd expect better quality. Sorry but I'm not the type to be sending it back, it is what it is and I'll most likely think twice before giving it another try. I debated on 2 or 3 stars but had to stick with 2 stars because it was disappointing enough not to bother finishing the meal. Just being honest.

Cute and cozy-feel restaurant with friendly service and some of the best Gyros and Tzatziki Sauce I have had in Illinois, outside of Chicago/Cook County. Didn't have brunch until later in the day so stopped by an hour before close as it was nearby. Definitely a good spot if there are regulars and good rapport with the staff. I had the Towner Square Omelette which had their Gyros, Onions, Tomatoes, side of Tzatziki Sauce, with your choice of Toast or Pancakes, Fruit. Also had a Bloody Mary, and a waitress-choice Irish Coffee. The family-oriented crew as well as the homey-interior, makes you feel right at home. Wouldn't mind stopping in again if in the area.

My hunny & I came here for the first time a few weeks back & upon walking in you get that cozy comfy feeling. It has that old school diner kind of look/feel. We came early on a Saturday morning so we didn't have a wait time. I got a Belgian waffle with eggs & bacon along with a smoothie, my hunny got a skillet. I really really wanted to be impressed by the food but it was a let down. The smoothie had more of a milkshake consistency & it tasted like milk was in it. My waffle tasted pretty bland :/ & my hunny wasn't impressed with his skillet. It was worth a try.

We tried to eat here on a Saturday around lunch time. We are from the southwest suburbs, but we were in the area for a swim meet, and thought we’d try it out based on the reviews here on Google Maps.

We entered through the back and we were happy to see that there were several open tables throughout the restaurant. We got to the hostess stand and there was a line waiting to be seated. We were told it would be about 15 minutes for a table. We gave our name and began to wait despite the fact that there were at least 4 or 5 tables unoccupied to seat our party of 4.

After a few minutes, a family of 4 came in behind us. The owner ran over to give them hugs and ask how they were doing. She was very sweet. Asking how the kids were doing in school and what not.

After a few more minutes, the group in front of us was seated, so we were excited to be next.

After a few more minutes, they literally let the people who came in behind us take the table for 4 in the front window that just opened up, and left us standing there!!!! Absolutely unbelievable.

I told my family that we were leaving, and we found a place down the street instead.

Avoid the Townee Square Restaurant unless you are friends with the ownership, then you will be treated like royalty. If you’re just some regular old customer, you’ll be passed to the side until all of the VIPs have been seated.

Complete joke, I wish I could give it 0 stars, but 1 is...

My family and I have been going to Townee Square in Libertyville for years and we LOVE THIS PLACE! The place has a traditional, small town feel to it and the staff is so friendly. We know them all by name and look forward to each visit. All throughout the restaurant are vintage photos of Libertyville in days past. The town is the oldest in Lake County and the pictures are fascinating. I'm a big fan of their breakfast food (especially their Classic Eggs Benedict; also love having their French toast with eggs sunny side up). They also make wonderful soup that you can take home with you. My wife orders a different kind every week. If you're looking for a truly GREAT hometown restaurant - one with real character and great breakfast and lunch food - Townee is a wonderful place to enjoy with your family. I should have written this review a long time ago. ...

A True Gem in the Heart of Libertyville

Townee Square is everything you want in a classic diner—and then some. From scratch-made soups to their unbelievably creamy, house-made Greek yogurt, every bite feels like a labor of love. One of the best deals around? For every egg you order, you get another one free. It's the kind of generous, no-nonsense value you rarely see anymore.

The menu is packed with standout choices on both sides—whether you're craving sweet or savory, you’re covered. I especially love coming here for Sunday brunch. There's something warm and comforting about the atmosphere, and its central location in Libertyville makes it the perfect weekend destination.

If you're looking for a place that serves up diner classics with quality and care, Townee Square...
