LuLu's Diner — Restaurant in Lima

It’s sort the of unfair to say “rate Lulu’s.” There are 5 locations, 4 in Allen county and 1 in Logan county. The one in Logan county is at Indian Lake and is the only one that is open all day, it becomes a bar at night; the rest close at 2pm. Let’s start by saying they are all really good. They have a decent breakfast/lunch menu that will satisfy any age. There is plenty for those on Adkins or gluten-free. Meals are primarily $5-$15 and are filling. Again, rating them as a whole would be unfair because of staffing, parking, cleanliness, but I have been to them all and can easily rate them from 1-5, 1 being the best. So… 1. Lulu’s at the Lake, best for staff, room, and parking 2. Lulu’s Wapakoneta, cleanest, nicest layout, most modern, and good parking 3. Lulu’s Bluffton, best food, good layout and great service 4. Lulu’s Bellfountaine Ave, good with a couple of great waitresses but when that are off, it’s average. Parking is good but can be tough to get there n and out of 5. Lulu’s Sencerville Rd (the original) It’s tight and parking is the same, especially if it’s full. It’s up and down but is by far the lowest rated of the 5. We came to Lu Lu's at the recommendation of a few people who said it was really good. Unfortunately we had the opposite experience. Our service was extremely slow, we sat at our table for upwards of 5 minutes before getting asked for our beverage order. We placed our food order (two omelets, not a difficult order) and it took entirely too long to come out. In fact 3 different tables (total of 9 people) who were seated AFTER we ordered received there meals before ours came out. When the third table received theirs I stopped a waitress and explained the situation and her response was "there are a lot of orders up there." Then she walked off. A few minutes later our food did come out, but it was also a disappointment. My omelet which I ordered with no jalopenos - they had also left the onion and peppers out of, so it was just chicken, tomatoes and cheese. Both mine and my husbands potatoes were undercooked, and the toast was more like barely warm bread, the "preserves" were warm and watery. We were really hoping the food would make up for the service, but it clearly didn't. Worst $22 breakfast...

My coffee had some lipstick on the mug that was not washed off. I told the waitress about it who didn’t seem to happy that I told her, but I just could not drink from another cup so I requested a to go cup to drink my coffee. Despite the dirty cup, I made the mistake of staying. Employees had their heavy coats on as they served the tables, and when we mentioned how cold it was, they said it was only 62°. Silly me for thinking that was too cold.. 😒

I still ordered something to eat (I really wanted to like the place), and when the food came out, it looked amazing!!! Unfortunately, it was so cold inside, the food came out on an ice cold plate, and the food itself was cold. I tried to enjoy it, but when greasy food gets cold, it leaves a film in your mouth that just grosses me out, so I didn’t eat.
