My husband, son and my pregnant self went for supper tonight. We came and it wasn't super busy but they might have been understaffed as we had to wait 15 min or so for a table when there was plenty open. We waited a few minutes for our waitress and she had taken our orders. 20 min after we placed the order, she came back and told us they weren't going to have ribs (I ordered them) for another hour. Okay, that's fine so I ordered the bourbon steak instead. Another 20 min or so went by and she came out and told us my son and husband's food was ready but not mine. She asked us if we wanted that out and I yes, cause our son is 3 and getting stir crazy. She didn't come back with their food for another 10 min. My husband's food was hot and my sons was a little warm. Didn't complain about it cause he didn't need super hot food. After dropping off their food, she went to check on mine. Meanwhile they finished theirs by the time she came back and said they were waiting on the shrimp. Another 15 min goes by and at this point t I'm confused as to why it's taking 15 min to cook a medium rare steak and shrimp. Finally my food comes out and it's chicken and shrimp. The lady(different than our waitress) told me she was going to get it fixed right away. By this point im annoyed. Our waitress comes back a handful of mi uses later and apologizes and says that "he must have heard me say chicken instead of steak, would you like me to get another going for you."t i politely said no and that we would take our check and boxes. Meanwhile we waited and she ran other peoples food(which is just fine) but then came back to thr table without our change and no boxes. Realized what she did, she went and grabbed boxes. Still no change. Then we politely asked for change and she went to go get it. We got up and walked to the door and she came and met us and forgot how much change she owed me cause she put the slip down with the boxes the first time around. She ended up not giving us the exact amount back and I was fuming at this point and needed to leave before I became that angry pregnant woman in Applebee's who didnt get any food over the course of an hour and 20 some minutes. Not once did the manager come out and speak with us or apologize. Anyways, I'm done ranting now. I know times are hard for everyone but damn, they could have done much better! We won't be back to...
Read moreNow I know you go to Applebee's because you know exactly what you're going to get. Your expectations have to be pretty low in the first place. I went here with some friends and first off it was so cold in the restaurant I could hardly stand it. I kept on my Carhartt coat the whole time and was still very uncomfortable to the point where my teeth were chattering. It wasn't just me either, the three other members of my party were just as cold. We spoke to our server asking if he could possibly crank up the heat, he said yes but we never felt a difference. Part of why I was so cold could have to do with my drink which brings me to my second quarrel. I was having a good time drinking my margarita when I spot a small hair (eyelash or short brown head hair) in my drink. I had on a hefty swipe of mascara so I know it was not mine. I pulled it out and continued drinking the very sweet concoction when all of a sudden I spot a second hair in the drink. I will spare you the rest of the details but at the end of my drink I was 4 hairs and counting. I don't know if the bartender decided my drink was a good receptacle for him to pluck his eyelashes into or what. We were so excited when our food came out considering I was on the outskirts of hypothermia the thought of warm food sounded delightful. I ordered a pasta dish with chicken and a breadstick. I had to be careful with the breadstick because it was so hard that if I swung it around I might knock someone out. The flavor tasted like how you'd picture an Applebee's breadstick tasting (once I could finally gnaw off a bite) the pasta was cold which just made me sad and the flavor was terrible. I didn't expect a gourmet meal but a alfredo chicken pasta dish is hard to mess up but somehow they managed. We all ate about 1/4 of our dishes and decided to call it a night. I forgot to mention the prices are outrageous as well. I think the pasta was in the $12-13 range and I certainly did not get my moneys worth. Applebee's has a loyal following so they'll be fine, me on the other hand, I'm still not sure if my stomache felt quite right after...
Read moreI recently visited Applebee's Restaurant with my family for a casual night out, and while it had its ups and downs, overall, it was an okay experience.
Let's start with the positive aspects. The staff at Applebee's was friendly and welcoming. From the moment we entered, we were greeted with warm smiles and prompt seating. Our server was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The atmosphere was comfortable, and it provided a pleasant setting for a family gathering.
Now, onto the food. While there were various options on the menu, I decided to order a steak, which unfortunately turned out to be overcooked. I had requested a medium-rare steak, but it arrived more towards the medium-well side. This was disappointing, as a perfectly cooked steak can make or break the dining experience. However, it's important to note that the flavor of the steak was still decent, even though the doneness was not what I had hoped for.
The rest of the meal was satisfactory. The sides and appetizers we ordered were tasty and served in generous portions. The menu had a decent variety of options, catering to different tastes and preferences. While Applebee's may not be renowned for its steaks, they do offer a range of other dishes that might suit different palates.
When it comes to steaks, however, there are definitely better options available at specialty steakhouses or high-end restaurants. If you're specifically seeking a top-notch steak, I would recommend exploring other establishments that specialize in this area.
In conclusion, Applebee's Restaurant provided an adequate dining experience for a family night out. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the overall meal was decent, aside from the disappointment with the overcooked steak. While Applebee's may not be the go-to place for exceptional steaks, it still offers a variety of other...
