This used to be one of my favorite Italian-themed restaurants in the area. It was a bit pricey but the quality was great. This is the first time we returned since the pandemic and the food quality has degraded significantly. The bread was nice, warm and tasty - expectations matched so far. Maybe I've been watching too many Gordon Ramsay shows, but everything went downhill from there. Every pasta dish had quite a bit of a watery soup at the bottom, which even I don't get when I make my Prego spaghetti at home. To make matters worse, none of the sauces had flavor - Prego at least has some flavor. The kids dishes had texture of microwave heating. The only one that didnt have this "microwaved" texture, was a penne pasta soaked in a bath of tasteless butter - ghastly! We sent it back. The risotto was like an ice cream scoop, and it didnt have a lot of flavor and its texture was like it was made the day before (or even before). The Veal was cut very thin but it was tender and had decent flavor. The stuffed pork chop was well seasoned, tender and juicy. I would say this pork chop was the pinnacle of the entire meal. Desert -- The creme brulee was pretty nice but it is presented with standard canned whip cream with caramel on top. The Spumoni was really good, definitely recommend it. Overall it was an okay experience, we'll give this place another try in a few months, I hope the food quality has...
Read moreThe food is excellent, & the variety seems too vast to for cooks to maintain, but this doesn't stop Buonarroti's from their great menu & output!!! Only the appetisers do not catch my fancy, & their is a slight staffing situation spilling to the customer, (setting for over 1 hour before it was I who questioned this on a busy Saturday night, cooks should have notified server that the food was waiting for pick up like a well organized the team instead of getting hostess in trouble, come on, you are e not in high school, grow up hidden behind scene cooks, #2 they added so much dried crushed red pepper, like about 2 tablespoons rendering spaghetti inedible instead of a sprinkle, come on cook, you must know the difference between adding some flavor & ruining a meal, #3 I paid for meatballs but received none on to go order, who dropped the ball there?) All my shortcomings were compensated by free food, extra big portions of dessert, & probably over 16 or more meatballs instead of 8!! The food was so good, I could not detectl any body fluids, if any, for pissing off remakes of dishes! Despite all this,y final opinion is good food, recycle the burnt out cooks, "you're fired", haha! They have many awards from 2008-2014, they can be a 5 star restaurant again!!! Glad I didn't hurt myself by...
Read moreItalian food hasn't been my thing lately, but this restaurant has decent food. The kids pizzas were really large for a 4 and a 5 year old. Wish i was told they could have just shared one. The pizza was otherwise good in my opinion but the kids werent big on it. The cheese ravioli was really good, but wouldnt recommend the meatballs. Too dense... I like my meatballs larger and a little fluffier where they arent smashed to death before cooking. Spaghetti was good... no complaints there. The mac n cheese was not typical but housemade. Kids were not big on that either. Service is good as several individuals served us during the visit. The atmosphere is quaint and clean...but restrooms have black toilets which i think are unattractive and look like someone forgot to flush in the dim light. I give the restaurant 4 stars for excellent service and atmosphere. There are many things on the menu i havent tried and the spaghetti and ravioli are good, so maybe just not a place to bring kids with...
