Flydogz has become a staple name in our home. It's located only a few blocks from our house, so it's the go to selection in place of eating out anywhere else. Marcus, his "after my own heart" Mother in Law, his wife, their 2 kids (Nas is awesome) are so involved, WITH cleanliness, atmosphere, fun, their customers and in the quality of their food. We tell anyone and everyone about them. We take all guests there, or bring them Flydogz. Their menu, all I can say is WOW. It's a perfect variety of toppings, Dogz, sides : including GREAT FRESH FRUIT! GREAT MAC & CHEESE! MOUTH WATERING POTATO SALAD! and FRENCH FRIES. Desserts. Kids meals. Healthy drink selections available. They provide such a warm, bright, and interesting vibe that you can't help but feel it too, which causes other customers to feel it, bringing all who enter the restaurant together in laughter, good food and a STRONG sense of community. They will always have loyal, happy, and FULL customers in us.
Oh, Marcus was the first person ever, to ASK if we're Military (We are) thusly giving us a discount.
They also have daily specials that are unbeatable.
I recommend highly, the Flydog, the New York Dog with a Nathan's juicy dog, and the "Nas" named after their son who helps in all aspects of the store. From greeting anyone who enters, cleaning dining area, and register. I think it's funny, each time I've gone in, I feel like he's grown an inch.
That's how you know it's good. If you can see changes like that, it stops just being a great place to eat and becomes more like a small group of friends, who feed me big, juicy, DELICIOUS hot dogs. WHO DOESN'T WANT THAT IN THEIR LIFE!?!
Skip a trip to McDonald's*, give Flydogz a try!! *especially the World's worst McDonald's located on 27th & Vine. That's a whole 'nother story, though.
We'll see...
Read moreI would have given 5 stars, but this place needs a few things to make it have a good atmosphere. The paintings are unreal awesome like going into an awesome experience. You would be swamped if you made a few updates. Get new flooring, get rid of shelf in front of window, Get more of those hand painted tables(the fold up ones don’t look good in restaurant)Get some little bit nicer chairs not folding ones. Put up a wall not a curtain going into back, crockpots in plain sight don’t look good, Get rid of clutter and trim things off. Get a few other type of hot dogs too, mine was little overdone, take a little more pride in what you have here. You need a little help with place inside and it would be a unreal experience. This place is a gem waiting to be found. I think someone put in tons of creativity and heart and either ran out of extra funds or just do not realize what they have. This could be a marking point of must sees in Lincoln or just Nebraska in general. You are almost there just need a push to make it happen. I loved this place, but has so much potential. More advertising and more signage. I shared a post on my own Facebook how cool it is. People will talk about this place the more you make it feel clean and welcoming. It was Very clean, but had a clutter to it. The hanging curtain and cloth in bathroom. Do a little Sheetrock work. Floor is clean but so worn it makes it look tacky. Cover over pop machine if your not going to fix it. I would buy New or paint the doors too In front...
Read moreFly Dogz completely knocked my socks off. The food was delicious, fresh, and filling. The prices were extremely reasonable and I can't wait to go back again. Not only that, but owners and staff present were delightful and friendly. They made us feel very, very welcome.
The menu offered large variety of different kind of hot dogs to eat, with a whole lot of different toppings to choose from—including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. You'll definitely be able to find something to hit the spot at this place. Additionally, there were lots of sides to choose from and they were all prepared fresh in-house and you can certainly taste how fresh they are.
I ordered a first class hot link chicago style with a side of coleslaw and it was remarkable. I wanted to get a second right then and there. The coleslaw was crisp and the dog itself was the quintessential chicago style hot dog with very great tasting ingredients.
The person I was with customized their dog with onions and hot sauce...it was extremely good and just the right level of spicy. Perhaps other options for hot sauce would be good but honestly that's the only suggestion I can think of. They got the home-made macaroni and cheese as their side dish and I stole a few bites myself. It was everything you'd want in some mac and cheese.
All in all, great experience. Like I said, can't...
